Hi guys this is my first post and I’ve just started collecting graded pokemon cards (I have an extensive collection of ungraded WOTC Nm-Mint cards) and wondered if I could get a bit of advice. I picked up 2 PSA 9 Alakazam and Flareon Legendary collection Holos and I was wondering how hard is it to collect the full set of PSA 9 Holos as I definitely can’t afford the 10s. I also have nearly the whole set in Mint condition so I was thinking I could send off my 8 holos for grading. And then the best case scenario would be 10 PSA 9s. But I’ve heard they are notoriously hard to grade so I’m in two minds and wanted some advice from the pro collectors before I embark on what may be a frustrating journey 
Mint WOTC Holo are definitely worth grading, especially if you will collect them!
IF you are familiar with PSA standards, I would carefully examine each card, to make sure you are comfortable with what grades they could come back as!
That is one of the problems I’m facing I’ve been hoarding cards without getting them graded I have easily 40-50 that I need to send off but it would cost over £300-400 which I’d rather spend on cards tbh.
You could sell some duplicates once graded and it would pay for the grading costs, especially if you have some nice cards that come back PSA 10

Compare your cards to the graded ones you bought and don’t be afraid to send them off. If you get back a few 10’s you can pay for the entire submission with just a few sales. Completing a PSA 9 set is definitely possible and the hunt will be the fun part. I recently completed a PSA 9 set of LC. Have some patience and enjoy the collection!
