What if I told you as a kid my mom only let me drink tap water straight from the faucet to eliminate plastic waste and believed the minerals and bacteria in the pipe residue would make my immune system stronger? Pair this with the fact that I took tap dancing for 11 years all the way up to college and even taught dance for 3 years after that. So I would like you to know that the first time Azul and I had a phone call, your name was brought up. You’re a really popular guy, what can I say. Well, I said “KWAY-DOR”, because that’s what I’ve always thought of you as, I like the ring to it, it sounds alien and magical, both of which properties I like to amusingly associate you with conceptually, do to obvious things from the forum (encyclopedic knowledge, the rubik’s cube, etc).
Well, Devin said, “dude I think it’s KWU-AH-DOR”. And I just couldn’t accept it. I believed him, I knew it was true now, but my image was shattered. No, I decided, just as I do for Tidus from Final Fantasy X, knowing full well the canon pronunciation is TEE-DUS instead of TIGH-DUS, I would go on thinking of Quuador as the Quuador I believe in.

Destiny Deoxys is pretty much what playing gen 3 felt like to me, and Mossdeep would be my 2nd favorite place in Hoenn. Rayquaza and Deoxys fighting in space is pretty much Pokemon at its best, and then add Metagross? nothing else in the franchise really comes close for me.
also, if you didn’t click that white rock 6,000 times as a kid trying to follow some random online guide to get Deoxys, then you’re not a real gen 3 fan.

Many years ago the names of two stuffed animals pushed together for an online username thats seemingly untraceable irl that is also unique, simple, and always makes me happy since it has memories attached to the owner of the stuffed animals, all seemed to be a good idea.

@HumanForScale has always brought me joy. I thought it was a creative and useful idea for a profile pic, and name.
I actually didn’t choose mine as a pokemon username originally. I was in a Halo tournament, and needed to pick a name real quick. The ‘X’ stood out to me, and I liked the sound of “ZAi-LEEts” so there ya go. It was actually a really fun tourney, but I then went on to start using “ThePl4gue” as my gamertag. You know, “You were killed by ThePl4gue” was fun, scrolled across the screen.
But when it came time to choose a name for my pokemon accounts, I remembered “Xileets” and it just felt right. Steelix has also always made an impression on me ever since Gen 2.
