Swampert regice tyranitar/aggron is also decent
when you switch you lose all of the perfect IVs you get in the draft to discourage switching
Registeel and Regice were also awesome! Curse Resto Chesto Steel stalled me so many wins.
Realistically you can make any sensible team comprised of Gen 3 OU/UU staples work.

Yes, that’s what I wanted to say. It’s the only facility that I haven’t done a second Gold run yet and I am really not sure if I ever will. It took me longer than all other facilites combined, even if you include breeding Mons and grinding them to have them ready to compete.
I actually never used the standard meta team. For my first run, which I shared here last year I used Salamence, Metagross, Milotic for most facilites (with the inclusion of Raikou in one other) and Starmie, Heracross, Blissey for the Pike.
Since then I have used other Mons/teams as well (since the teambuilding aspect is the one that I enjoy most about it). What I can recommend as well are (all pretty obvious choices) Suicune, Zapdos (both can be used either offensive or defensive), Heracross (not only for the Pike), Gengar, Registeel or Slaking. But with the core principles of teambuilding and the mechanics of the BF in mind, I am convinced that many different teams can achieve Gold symbols.

I thought they were always 3 iv on draft, and then swapping is always random (low) ivs
The first round is 3IV draft. But later rounds are higher (6,9,12,15,21,31). Swapping allows you to get a higher round mon (or more than 1) “early” (e.g. swapping 15 times through round 1-2 gives you a round 4 pokemon w IV15 in round 3’s draft)
Your opponents’ pokemons’ IVs are also fixed each round and go up every round
