I only have eyes for this guy. 
Other than that, mixed bag I’d say. Mew, Banette and Dustox don’t really do it for me at all, I’m not a fan of Arcanine (though the depiction and color is nice,) Armaldo is handicapped by Fighting brown (which I think should’ve been Grass green.) The Flygon is nice, if a bit misplaced.

Emerald. 
Not only does it feature a staggering four of my favorite Pokemon as ex cards, but they’re all 10/10. Cacturne is a near favorite and also 10/10, and the Altaria is a rare example of the card outperforming the Pokemon.
Dragon 
is also extremely strong and a worthy number 2. Dragon has fewer lemons but doesn’t peak as high as Emerald.
Emerald does have some fantastic choices! I definitely think they are the selling point of Emerald. Dragon is great too. I absolutely adore Dragonite and Ampharos’ ex there. My favorite has to be Dragon Frontiers 
. I grew up with it and just love the art so much!

Since we were talking about Legend Maker, I love this card. Kizuki during ex is another Hoenn win. Dosed to stand out, as they should, and as many holos as we ever got from her in a single generation (though still not enough.)

At the beginning of the year, I set out to achieve one of my childhood goals: get all the Gold symbols in Emeralds Battle Frontier. Today, I am really happy to say that I have finally achieved this goal.
Most of the symbols I got with a team of Salamence / Metagross / Milotic, while using Raikou instead of Milotic in the Battle Arena. For the Pike I used Heracross / Starmie / Blissey. The first 6 Gold symbols were a little bit grindy but after several attempts I got all of them. But then came the Battle Factory… I spent the last 2.5 months (or 80 to 90 hours) trying to get the Gold symbol in this facility. I lost probably 10 attempts or so at Battle 36 to 40, some of them due to some misplays by me but most of them due to either ridiculous hax or an unwinnable starting draft (e.g. a Quick Claw Rhydon as his last Mon Horn Drilling all of my 3 Mons at battle 38). Today I finally got an incredible starting draft (Latios 4, Dragonite 7 and Tyranitar 10) while getting really lucky and not facing any Suicunes, Milotics or Swamperts that would have countered the entire team. I was so happy when I finally beat the Frontier brain and got my last Gold symbol.
During that time I also almost finished the National Dex (currently having 342 out of the 380 possible Pokemon without a Game Cube). I will take a short break from Hoenn now but will return to finish the Dex as well.
In the beginning of the year I said in this thread, that Emerald is my second favorite game, narrowly missing out to HGSS. Today I have to say, it’s at least a shared place first between HGSS and Emerald now. But if I had to decide on one game, I would probably pick Emerald.

Thank you! No there is actually no special cutscene after completing it. You just get another star in the trainer pass and are able to collect a special berry at Scott’s house.
