This is my first post on E4, I hope I’m in the right section!
I’m a Psyduck collector and I just stumbled upon this beautiful natta wake sketch. one of the best sketches I’ve seen: sharp and precise marker, 3 colors, great composition.. I usually don’t collect sketches, so I don’t know what would be a fair price.
It also comes with these 2 Craig Turvey sketches of Snorlax. The one on the left was given to everyone who bought a ticket for the expo. The one on the right was a personalized sketch, which was a service reserved for the staff only.
Any opinion or advice on the price of these would be very appreciated. Thank you!
Well, considering the latest Himeno event has tickets starting at around $2,000 for one personal signed item, I would say that’s definitely a baseline and you probably won’t find anything cheaper than that. It’s also a newer autograph, and I feel like her sketches have improved a lot compared to the Charlotte autographs, which are still very nice. I would assume they’ll want somewhere in the $2,500–$3,000 range, but that’s just my guesstimate. Hopefully they don’t ask for more than that
Thank you! I considered the 2k ticket and, considering also that this is very well done, 3 colors and full body I thought 3k or a little more.
They’re asking 4k for the three sketches.
For what my advice is worth, it is a nice sketch and decent grade, her autos seems to be increasing due to her charging more at events.
4k seems more than I’d personally willing to pay, however its in the range of “reasonable” for psyduck and artist collectors. If I was buying it, I’d probably ask if they could get a little cheaper and not include the Turvey’s. But if you also like the Turvey cards, then its a fair buy.
4k certainly sounds reasonable to me if not underpriced. This looks like a legit auto, along with the Turveys I would hope the seller would be able to provide provenance/documentation for the auto. Many Himenos are fake these days.
As someone who is actively getting a Psyduck card signed/sketched by Himeno at the signing in Australia next month…$4k is completely reasonable for all three.
For reference, here is the lowest tier available just to even get a personal item signed at this event:
Thanks y’all. A little bit of different opinions but I would say it’s kind of a reasonable price. I’ll think about it!
That’s my thought, I think Psyduck (21 sketched copies in psa) is much more difficult to find compared to a birthday pika (hundreds of copies). That would also justify a slightly higher price
I’m not familiar at all with sketches, so maybe I’m missing something, but these prices don’t make sense to me. A birthday pika, depending on version, goes for 500-2000$ in psa8/9 (not sketched). A Himeno ticket is 2000$ + grading cost, travel costs and possibly a middleman fee. Any Himeno pika sketch should cost at least 4/5K or higher just to make up for the costs.
How are these sold prices sustainable for sellers? Some of these don’t even reach the price of the ticket alone..
As always. Himeno did an absolutely incredible job on this sketch, as well as on all of the other card sketches/autos I saw that came out of this event. So pumped to add this to my growing collection of Psyduck autos and autos in general
Also (for anyone this may pertain to), ever since I missed out on the Himeno signings back in 2023 that I was almost able to attend, I’m really happy I decided to wait for the opportunity to come up to get the card I wanted sketched and signed (plus knowing it is legit) versus buying whatever one popped up on eBay. There is pain in the waiting but the reward is oh so sweet
I love all the swirls and leaves and flowers she added. Really shows she likely has a lot of fun signing and sketching these cards. And love the Psyduck sketch itself as well, of course! Especially with its matching red question mark.
