Help request. Japanese Awoken Hero SM4 booster box.

Hi guys,

Bought a few of these in Japan, noticed today that some have a red banner with some text on them and others don’t. Hoping someone who understands Japanese or who experienced this before can help me figure out if it makes any difference to the contents. Link below:

Thank you in advance.

With SM Japanese Boxes they started doing first print run boxes that had a higher chance of having Sr cards, ones without the red strip are a lower chance.

True that @milhouse, double true.

So companies who pre-order, generally get the better boxes now. So maybe a good habit to get into pre-ordering for new Japanese boxes.

Awesome, thanks guys.

I did notice the ‘SR’ among all the Japanese letters, but couldn’t understand it.

I bought them at the pokemon center, and they were all the same price though. Why would the ones with higher chance of SR not be more expensive? Or is the difference in probability so small that it isn’t noticeable unless you open a bunch of them?

I thought the “first print” or pre ordered boxes have 100% a SR or UR, whereas the red banner is not guaranteed , maybe 50 or 75%?

I was under the impression that the banner indicated that it was part of that first print and therefore the boxes had a 100% chance of an SR or UR being in the box.

Red label: The first version is limited.

There is one card more than SR (Super Rare).

SR, HR (Hyper Rare), UR (Ultra Rare)

XY (1BOX20P) bought 5 BOX, it was 4 cards of SR or UR.

After becoming SM, it became 1 BOX (30 P).

Even if I bought five BOX, there was two that had only one SR, HR, UR.

There is no first edition mark in the SM.

So, a box with a red label is advantageous.

The limited edition is a request from the purchaser.

Thank you for reading.
