I was going through a recent purchase and I found a shadowless fighting energy that was half-square cut (on the right side only).
The right side corners are bent a little like the machine that cuts them malfunctioned but the card is in otherwise NM condition, Could this be worth anything?
This depends. If itâs a legit âhalf cutâ then itâs worth much more. You can tell by comparing the end cut to a regular card and/or the angle of the end cut.
Really? I was valuing it based on previous sales of half square cut cards. There was a mewtwo and a ninetales that sold for between $30 and $45 a little over* a year ago. In addition there have been several common/uncommons sold for relatively low amounts. But maybe theyve gone up since.
@pokemaniac151 Would it be possible to see some photos of the card?
YesâŚit depends if it is a legit half cut as apposed to an aftermarket effort to alter a square cut.
That Mewtwo that sold last year was a legit half cut as it turned out cause I bought it. I figured it was worth about 250.00 since it was a clean cut and I sold it for around there.
Whether it was legit or not wasnât what I was referring to⌠A raw âhalf cutâ* card has simply never sold for that amount previously. I saw your sold listing as well just awhile ago. Congrats mate!
I have a Trainer Deck B Water Energy with 1 square cut corner. Came straight out of the opened box which I purchased directly from @thecharizardauthority a while back. PSA initially didnât grade it, but after re-sending it in and asking for just an Authenticate grade, it was given a PSA 5 due to the corner.
Square cuts are out there, just really hard to find legit ones
