Hello everyone,

This post serves to educate people on the many variants of Base Set Blastoise 2/102. There are a total of seven variants of this card, outlined below. I’m intentionally leaving out stamp thickness variations because there is already a guide for those here.

Unlimited - Trainer Deck B
Note: The back side of this card has a red border instead of a blue border and also reads “Trainer Deck B”. This card is also not holographic.

1st Edition

Shadowless

Unlimited

Unlimited - Stage Error
Note: The word “Stage” at the top right of the card is missing.

Unlimited - Red Dot Error
Note: There is a red dot above the energy symbols for the Hydro Pump attack.

Unlimited - 1999-2000 Copyright
Note: The only difference between this card and the Unlimited card is the Copyright date.

Guess you just ment in foreign language and by foreign language just english. I would recommend to include the Trainer Deck B back aswell cos it’s really cool!

Edit: And also Trainer B should be 1st cos it came before base set 1st ed

Nice guide! Weird enough I have a Blastoise with bunch of tiny red dots all over the card. Is the red dot error pretty common?

Meet Chickenpox Blastoise. Dots are small but sprinkles from top to bottom

@ptccards Whoa sick card. Definitely never seen that before, seems like a one of a kind error to me :blush:
