Greek Guy here, on a wild hunt for this bad boy, desperate for help,

Greece has a small community and fan base for Pokemon. The market variance and availability is insufficient if not questioning from times to times.I am a huge Johto fan, since Pokemon Gold was the first video game I 've ever had and still carry deeply in my heart. And when it comes to Totodile, Croconaw and Feraligatr I can gladly say that they are among the biggest parts of nostalgia that I am carrying around. I 've always tried to add to my collection pieces throughout ebay, cardmarket and locally for the last 10 years that I restarted collecting. I am trying to find this specific Victory Medal Feraligatr (non graded) for a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time now but I am simply not able to. I went even to Hong Kong last November for holidays and I tried my luck on finding him in various high end shops, nothing. Anyone have a clue or hint? Thank you.

P.S. That artwork of the Crocoboi is truely what pokemon is all about.Just look at his smile and happiness on seeing that silver coin, Gives Wario vibes. I love it.

I’m out of the loop of what these cards are worth these days, and I’m unfortunately unable to find any non-graded copies.. But in case you’ve missed them somehow, here are all the (graded) ones I could find that are available for sale rn:

FYI: I see four semi-recent PSA-10 sold listings for 850; 900; 1.25k; and 1.65k USD, so based on that I feel like only the 250k Jpn.Yen and 1.8k USD for the PSA-10s are somewhat decently priced from the ones I linked above - if you were interested in a PSA-10..

It’s indeed weird no raw copies of this card can be found rn, not even at recent sold listings. But of course it’s always possible to buy a graded copy and crack it (although I wouldn’t advice that with a PSA-10, ngl  ).

I would advice to set up saved searches with email notifications on both eBay and CardMarket for this card, and just wait for a decently priced one to pop up, tbh. And look on Mercari and Yahoo Japan every once in a while, in case a cheap one pops up there. (PS: When searching, make sure to search for both victory medal Feraligatr and just 043/L-P. Some of the currently available listings I’ve linked above only came up with one or the other search term.

Best of luck in your search!

Greetz,
Quuador

Hey @Quuador thank you for your prompt answer. Cards like these tend to surge out of nowhere, simply because of their limited print but also because of their event (lore) occasion back in 2009-2010. I will for sure check Yahoo Japan and Mercari since I was not aware of these options, but a slab is far away from my budget or my way of collecting. Even if I would find this card on a mediocre condition I would still buy it.

I think this also gives us a slight hint that as the time is passing more and more of cards like this will end up getting graded regardless of their condition, so raw copies will become more and more not available throughout the globe.

Making us wonder if raw cards will have their own rarity and price tag at the end of the day, simply because of their high population of them getting graded.

What is worth to mention is that cards like this are falling into the category of people not even knowing their existence and how this information of availability can vary from country to country making them even more lore-attracted.

Regardless, I will for sure set my saved searches (thank you for this hint) and pray for the best.

I will update you in case I have any news !

Once again thank you.

Long live Johto!

I dont have anymore to add regarding finding it, but consider making an official WTB thread with the amount youre willing to offer, and maybe someone stumbling on the thread will see it, and remember you first when wanting to sell!
