# Grading booster packs

Hi everyone

Could anyone point me to a guide on grading booster packs? I am currently in the market for booster backs to get them graded, but am unsure as to what to look for in order to get a PSA 9-10.

I graded 100+ of them a few years back. From what I saw there wasn’t much consistency lol. Best advice would be to look at hi res graded examples on eBay. Just keep an eye out for obvious things. I sent mostly pack fresh examples from boxes that looked “nice” and overall had mostly PSA 9’s and 10’s. What exactly made the difference I couldn’t tell you buy generally look for ones with nice wrinkle free wrappers, on center artwork, no staining or odd cuts basically all the same things you look for in a card.

I graded several that had “impressions” on them of the seam of the boosters that rested above them and sometimes that would seem to negatively affect the grade and other times they’d get 10’s. The old style case they would fold the flaps so how any issues on the flaps could negatively affect them I’m unsure.

In either case I reached out to them last week via e-mail about their new pack styles. If/when they confirm that new submissions are guaranteed to receive only the new pack styles then I plan to send a couple hundred packs their way.

Here’s what PSA lists as their grading criteria for packs. It seems to be the general consensus though that pack grading feels inconsistent, at least from what I’ve seen from other people’s opinions.
