Glossy Japanese jungle pikachu?

To be honest I cannot find ANY information on this card, and as someone who buys/sells 100’s of thousands of singles, I’ve never before seen this. Differences Ive noticed are

1: attack energy symbols are similar to English being the same size lightning bolt as next to the hp

2: Colorless energy has less of a shadow, similar to that of English

3: text is slightly more bold for attack font/illustrator/card no/“mouse pokemon”/“length”/“weight”; but less bold for “0.4”/“6kg”

The card feels/looks like a glossy corocoro… I’ve owned a few of them over the years and it’s just very odd because I can’t find any information on this card. My gut tells me it was some sort of print/design test card. I’ve already accepted the possibility of it being a fake, but it really doesn’t feel like one in any way other than it being an oddity in itself. Would appreciate any knowledge/help!!!

@Quuador here you go

It’s fake, the image is slightly more zoomed in, energy symbols are different etc. Cant align them perfectly because of practically everything being slightly wrong (check the lv 14 too):

Pikachu

I stole this pic from @shizzlemetimbers

We know there were 5 pack variants.

Short, 291, 300 sticker, 300, and then a later 300 with a 2001 barcode on the back. It would be interesting if it is found in one of these.

The best thing to do would be some light tests of the card stock, zoom in and check ink, etc to make sure it is real.

Definitely a fake card. Too many inconsistencies that don’t make sense, even from the perspective of print testing. Remember, English WoTC prints came after Japanese releases (and were mostly constructed by WoTC design teams), so it would make no sense for a Japanese Jungle test print to contain differences found in English copies. Japanese Base - Fossil have very consistent font, shadowing, energy symbol size, etc.
