Found Cards

Whilst walking my dog this morning I found this card on the footpath. It was clearly well loved and even had some cool stickers on the back.

It got me thinking, there must be some good stories of other people who have found cards which had been either lost or thrown away. Have you ever found any cards when you were out for a walk and if so, what were they and did you keep them?

When I was a teen and strolling around my town, I found around 20 Yu-Gi-Oh cards shredded to bits. It was very sad to see.

Also, a couple of years ago, I left some holo cards out on a bench near an LGS for someone to find.

I’ve only found one card, which was in the playground as an 8 or 9 y.o. kid. This was a long time ago, although unlike your card with the sticker, I don’t think it was particularly well loved.

But it’s still in my collection today, since I never acquired a better quality English unlimited edition Fossil Muk (apparently). :upside_down_face:

The dirt and grime is appropriate for Muk. This is a cool find.

I once found this seedot on the ground with a nice crease down the center. I kept it, and placed it into my binder of cards given to me by kids. I do a lot of volunteer work with kids, and I sometimes receive interestingly mangled cards as gifts from those who know I like Pokémon. I figured the seedot would feel at home with some Pokémon left in a similar state to it.

Having a binder for these sort of cards is a great idea. Each card would tell its own story.

I just happen to stop by an auction house one day out of boredom and see my Pikachu I’ve been searching 2 decades for and it just happened to be mislabeled at an extremely low price! I snatched that up while unbelievably maintaining my excitement :sunglasses:
“2000 Red cheek Portuguese Jungle Pikachu-Holo 1st Edition” does this count as found?

It sure does. That must have been a fantastic feeling.

Found this in high school while walking home from the bus. IDK what happened to it, but it looks like it’s standing on a smoking battlefield. :fire: :smoking:

I remember seeing a kid drop a Chansey holo card face down on concrete, he then accidently stepped on it. It looked similar to that when he flipped it over to check the damage.

I think someone took sandpaper to it. Probly got some snarky advice here on how to remove mildew or something…

@D3F14NC3 , Fittingly, I found or acquired all of my Zards as discarded jacked-up cards this way until I started collecting seriously. :sunglasses:
