Fossil Pokemon Base Form Fight - 2 (vote to eliminate one)

Hello guys and fossil pokemon base form fight started with a bang. Every pokemon got atleast one vote proves how close these are. But the first one to take the blow was the beautiful looking amaura. Yeah amaura is clearly not a winner but I definitely thought it is not a pokemon that needs to go first when tirtouga, shieldon, lileep and archen exists.. But anyway decision is made and amaura needs to take the sendoff.

  1. Amaura 9. ???

Sad to see the Tirtouga hate… you are a lesser form of a turtle (literally… in an evolutionary sense)… but a turtle nonetheless.

All others are fossils, this turtle is just a turtle, does not deserve the status of fossil!

Why not? Turtles are old too, and they survived.

That is true of course, but for me a fossil should be something that is definitely old. Lots of pokemon could have existed a long time ago, but when tirtouga is out, there is no doubt about if the pokemon is a fossil or not. The remainders are definitely fossils.

Tirtouga looks really solid and has nicest shiny version from whole bunch, crazy to see it go out before Shieldon.

I knew turtles were old, but I didn’t know just how old until today. The oldest dinosaur fossil is ~243 million years old, and the oldest turtle fossil is ~220 million. Even Leatherbacks specifically have been around ~100 million years. Kinda neat

This alone makes it less interesting to see it as a fossil pokemon

I think its a cool take. They are in the same relm as sharks, they are living fossils and it has a great design.
Look up Cerrejón and the giant turtle fossils found there with Titanboa and the giant crocs.
The relicanth is also around since the dinosaurs they should have made that one a fossil mon too.

Hell they should technically make a shark fossil mon.

Absolutely, they have a wide array to choose from. Hybodus, Stethacanthus, Helicoprion etc.

Kabuto´s revenge? No votes when determining the best fossil, but also no votes for the worst.

They should that would be so cool. Sharks a great and our only shark mon is highly disappointing impo.

They could do the same with prehistoric crocs.

Just because a version of that species survived to modern day does not negate the fact that other versions didn’t, but it just makes them even cooler impo that these species have survived so long.
