Hello all.

This past weekend I purchased a 1st edition fossil box. I opened 2 of the heaviest packs at random to verify and both had clean mint holos to confirm the authenticity. All packs weights aligned to the quantity ratio of lights to heavy however I discovered one pack was incredibly light at 19 grams so almost a full 2 grams lighter than all the other lights in this box. My question is has anyone had a similar situation where they had an wotc box opened and the weight of 1 of the packs was super light compared to the rest?

Super light - 19 grams?
Light - 20.7-20.8

Heavy 21+

I would guess that there is just a card less in there, which in modern is not incredibly rare. I dont know if that happened with vintage often or not, but I will guess that that pack has one card less in it.

It can happen, but very rarely. Leonhart opened a 10-card Neo Discovery pack (one card missing) and pulled an Espeon Holo.

Thank you for sharing that. Although I don’t really like leonharts reaction i could tell he was genuinely surprised which made me chuckle a bit. So according to that neo pack, its pretty fair to assume that my super light fossil pack off by 2 grams l an error containing only 10 cards not 11. Ill be saving this pack and perhaps might do an experimentation later.

I think that would be a reasonable conclusion!
