For All Members OUTSIDE the U.K. ONLY ... NO Brits Please

Why in the world would anybody outside the U.K. care about this? Here in the U.S. almost every channel is covering it at 3:00am and later. Why??? Are you going to watch it?

Some people like watching strangers get married, some people like spending thousands of dollars on pieces of cardboard. To each their own

You pay money, you get cardboard. Sounds good to me:)

Oh…I know why the networks are carrying it. I’m simply wondering why do we want to watch it?

I honestly don’t understand why should I care (I’m from Finland). People are talking about the wedding everywhere and are even going to show it live on tv. There were some people at my work saying that nobody should bother them on Saturday because ā€œthey are going to a weddingā€ (= watch it from tv). I didn’t even know Harry was about to get married lol.

I’m from the UK (sorry Gary) and I can’t wait to sit down in front of the telly later… and watch the FA Cup Final!!

I’d say it’s a way for some to experience culture, but it’s a wedding. ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ

On a serious note, the only good thing about this wedding is that the pub opens earlier.

Meghan ain’t too bad to look at either. Fair play to Harry - punching well above his weight there.

Another brit here, If someone tells me no I can’t help being curious (sorry not sorry Gary).

I personally couldnt give a toss about the wedding. I bet Harry and Megan would probably prefer their wedding day didn’t have to be broadcast to the world either. Over here some towns and villages are even having street partys

Also no way is the H man punching above his weight, go gingers!! (megan is super hot though)

It’s a chance to witness opulence, decadence, pomp, and circumstance on a grand scale. It’s like a sports event for people who like this sort of thing, gather with your family/friends and spend a day together commenting and judging on the wedding.

My Sister/Mum/Nana always get together for Royal Weddings to hang out and watch it.

As much as the royal family are a bit obsolete and are horrible relics of a heavily class divided society, they are fantastic for tourism and the younger generation of them actually use their status for good(William and Harry serving in the military, with Harry legitimately seeing action). I also believe that William flies helicopters for the Emergency Hospital Service in the UK.

Excuse me ? You uneducated bafoon :zipper_mouth_face:

Love me some Middleton

I would only watch it to remind myself how nice it is to be free. It’s funny. These people have no serious function except for that they were born into the royal family… which I don’t believe even does much in governance anymore. I don’t get it either, ESPECIALLY for people outside the country. It’s so insignificant.

Anyone she dates is punching above their weight. :relieved:

Yeah wouldn’t disagree to that - lucky Harry eh!

In other news, I had a £10 bet on the queen wearing a green hat at 5/1 - as did all my other mates. The roar in the pub when the camera went to the queen was the highlight of the day.

To be fair, if he had the choice, I bet he wish he was just a normal bloke.

If he’s got someone pretty to spend a rainy day with out of all this (being in the royal family), then that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

I’m not…and others do, especially American’s (not all), because they are more worried about what other people are doing rather than themselves. Unless it effects them specifically, then it’s all about them.

.

One of our comedians was quoted as saying the Royals are ā€œbiggest welfare family in the world.ā€ Lol. Seems harsh though.
