You will meet that automated message 90% of the time. Ebay reporting feature sucks. It probably takes 10 people reporting for them to actually take 2 seconds to look at it and see it’s obviously fake
I’ve reported so many obviously fake Skyridge Charizard and Aquapolis Lugia cards over the past 6 months and they never take any of them down and its always that generic canned reply. I think the listings then sell and then obviously never get shipped or they do go to authentication and they’re deemed inauthentic. I really dont know how this particular scam works when they use eBay.
I obviously understand how it would work with cash and facebook but what happens when these things are purchased on eBay typically? I see it often with those two cards specifically and in the wider market there’s so many other items that can be tampered with, forged etc so how is that eBay’s go to method of handling this. Shouldn’t they have a wider department of real people handling this and not some automated auto-reply system?
Authentication guarantee just means it’ll go to the authenticator, but it won’t pass. Attempted short term loan for the seller, or an ignorant person who doesn’t know it’s fake.
