It’s a very cute card, but it truly is the poster child for the depravity and ignorance we’ve seen in the market this year. It being a fast food card is the ironic icing on top.
So while I like the card, I can’t help but feel like it’s been a little ruined for me.
100K pop of a McDonald’s promo is absolutely insane though.
I remember when the 270/SM-P Red’s Pikachu promos dropped. And dropped again. And dropped again. They were a dollar and you could buy bricks of 100 of them as much as you wanted. It was 2018 and we thought the market was pretty dang hot coming off of Pokemon GO popularity. The card is at a PSA POP 18k with 15K+ 10’s.
Anyway, that card sells for over $600 right now despite being available all the time and copies selling every single day, even in the 10.
The fundamentals of Pokemon have not changed.
The cycling in of new customers determines the prices.
What will they find? What will they like? What will have enough noise to be heard in a room of shouting?
Pikachu, ultra limited (even artificially truncated), promo from the best known global fast food chain, with art that at least a great deal of people seem into will be a winner.
POP reports remain a small subsection of a much bigger market. The counts have scaled appropriately. But the machine isn’t showing signs of being broken.
Take an appropriate, risk-adjusted, confidence-inspired position and relax. Don’t try to out-think the trends. The money will flow how it flows. Build the best possible net and let the water move. The specific card is the secondary, not the primary, bet. The bet is on the Pokemon machine. Don’t psych yourself out because the POP reports grew.
It reminds me of the Szechuan sauce from Rick & Morty. I think it’ll do more harm than good for the hobby.

I remember very specifically someone offering me 10 of them in 2019 or 2020 for $45 each (PSA 10) and thinking that was way too high lol
Still kicking myself for not selling my packs when they were going for $80. Now a PSA 10 is 80 
How do cards with pop this high hold any value!
Demand > supply
And that demand is fueled by speculation that banana go up
Going to pass 200k before any other card reaches 100k. That is insane
And to think this card wasn’t just released this year, it was released LAST SEASON 
I am deeply curious about the future floor for this card, to say the least.
It is also very fascinating that there are so many fake versions of this card also floating on the market. You would imagine a promo card so common and widely available would not be subject to these many fake copies. I was surprised atleast and probably done to capitalize on the fomo from people.

Yeah, it used to be 150 daily last month and I was sure it would be the first to cross the 100k. I was so confused when you posted this thread because I never expected Burgerchu to surpass it so fast lol
I was tempted to state the 020/M-P Pikachu as the new ‘1st edition Fossil Kabuto’ to try and ‘buyout completely’, for all the crypto-related spam I received on all my social medias, ngl.
