ESports Cards

There aren’t many Esports cards that I know of out there. I would know because I lost an ebay auction for a card last night. Any thoughts on Esports cards replicating sports cards as a hobby?

Important to keep in mind that e-sports is getting big in a time where things are moving to digital. I see the in game items associated with teams or players being the collectible of choice. CS gun skins, etc… Sad part being if the game is no longer supported or items aren’t passed along these will just sort of die off. Also important to note that digital goods do not actually belong to you.

I had no idea! I’ve seen it all now!

On the back of the card there is a copyright for Legacy Cardz. It’s a nice card, I just don’t know if it’s the real deal.

I have some Starcraft esports cards handed out at a previous Blizzcon. I’m missing one card to the set, but it’s still pretty cool to have.

I don’t know if esports cards would take off or not. While there are plenty of people competing in esports, doesn’t the top tier competition change often, and the games as well? My only experience with watching esports came from watching Blizzard games a few years ago, but it always seemed like there were new top players, fan favorites, new teams, new guilds, ect. It doesn’t seem the same as physical sports, where you can follow certain players for an entire career. People online seem to be here today, gone tomorrow.

I can see a few people maybe making a large enough impact to maybe have a valuable card, but overall I don’t think it’ll be the same.

digital goods don’t belong to you, but when I played csgo I knew multiple people who had spent $100k+ on their inventories

If you think pokemon collectors on ebay try to stretch their descriptions to make a sale, it’s nothing compared to csgo collectors hahaha
