who got it?
Have to look back a couple of posts, @ragingkraken is almost done with the Russian cards now
hahahah. Iām only just beginning with Russian cards. Iām probably at like 5% honestly. Wonder if I can finish Russian before English though.
dude, there are 17 russian eevee cards
AOR normal and reverse for the 4 in there
FF normal and reverse for the 4 in there
mcdonalds eevee
thats it
ironically, the FF eevee cards are the harder ones to locateā¦
Oh I know there arenāt that many. I just hadnāt paid much attention to them recently, so I just havenāt picked up too many until recently. Iām too busy keeping track of all the modern cards that I havenāt picked up yet because Iāve been slacking.
doing it in all languages is a massive task my dude. i dont know how you do it tbh
all going well tho, indonesian, traditional chinese and possibly thai will be phased out in the next couple of years and we will be down to 10/9 languages
PokĆ©mon hasnāt cut languages since Russian and Polish almost 10 years ago. Since then they added atleast 4 languages.
The cool promotions they are doing in those languages you mentioned should keep interest high worldwide and keep the local collectors and players interested.
Have you heard rumors of scaling back a language or 2?
just trends we are noticing.
indonesian caught up with Japanese, and now they cant keep up with their format, so are making massive sets like simplified chinese is currently.
Its just our opinions on it, but if they cant keep up, then there is a chance that they will just mothball the language.
regarding traditional chinese, it is believed that once simplified chinese catches up with traditional/japanese, that they will stop printing traditional in favour of simplified.
it would make no sense to print 2 languages that are so similar (especially when traditional is only for Taiwan, Macau? and Hong Kong)
thai is the least likely to be mothballed of the 3 however
Yeah, I think that Traditional Chinese will probably be phased out eventually, unless Taiwan goes out and wins the world championship or has a spike in popularity. Thai and Indonesian I feel will stick around, since they seem to be doing well. Otherwise, their league has to go back to playing with English cards I think.
Oh no. Theyāre gonna have exclusives arenāt they. Hmmm. Now Iām gonna have to think it over and see if I want to go your route of having a custom card or just pretending the digital game doesnāt exist.
traditional is printed almost exclusively for the tcg play
makes no sense to keep it once simplified catches up
I normally would pretend it doesnāt exist, but that Eevee might be my favorite artwork of all time.
The little guy is reaching for an evolution stone
Yeah I really like that artwork. A high res version would make it look really good. Maybe I just hope it eventually gets a physical print. If not, Iām gonna have to find out how to get a custom card made for it, if I do decide to not ignore the digital version.
sowsow strikes again with another masterpiece. Possibly the best Eevee ever illustrated and we wonāt have it in physical form?
Watch them release this physically in Japan only in a lottery system.
Which already happened last year if you count in Juniors:
https://www.pokemon.com/us/play-pokemon/worlds/2023/event-results
Comparison of number of organized events held in the past month (July) in each Asian region:
Taiwan: 1406 events
Hong Kong (Chinese events only): 388 events
Thailand: 257 events
Indonesia: 643 events
Oh nice. Actual numbers. So Taiwan seems to have a healthy and competitive playerbase. Thailand and Indonesia are interesting. Way smaller scene, but maybe itās healthy enough for Pokemon to be content. I feel confident that Traditional Chinese stays. Indonesian probably stays too. Thai Iām not entirely sure, but Iād say it stays.
Watch them never release it*, like several JP-excluded promos
If anyoneās looking for some holy grail, Mandarake currently has these in their auctions:
