Ebay vault goes public, is really cheap

Ebay slowing rolls things out. Recall the authenticity guarantee started at $750+ and is now $250.
So the vault being $250+ graded cards only for now may expand to other things over time

I think they will be slow to do sealed product tbh

They dont even do the auth guarantee on sealed like they do on singles at the moment

I don’t think eBay will ever add sealed product to the authenticity guarantee. It’s just far too difficult to authenticate sealed product for an hourly staff member at PSA/CGC. “Authenticating” slabs must be the easiest job that you could take at PSA.

Props go to CGC for authenticating raw cards, though. There are some fairly convincing fakes out there that would stump the average consumer.

I am surprised eBay hasn’t went one layer deeper where the buyer can pay to have the raw card graded and returned to them or the eBay vault.

CGC already reviews the card for authenticity, so a lot of the logistics of handling the card are done. Just need to grade and slab it

That would be a pretty good idea!

This is what Z&G emporium do right? Minus the vault I guess. But also you can just grade yourself and have it all sent to a PWCC vault too.

Yep, Z&G would grade and sell the cards for you. Alternatively, you could grade the cards yourself and store/sell them through PWCC or the PSA Vault (Collectors Vault; sold via Goldin Auctions).

I signed up if only for the no sales tax personally.

Where did you get the 13.5% selling fee for ebay? There seems to be none making it quite the competition for pwcc…

Ebay’s final value fee is 13.5% of all sales. Sorry for saying its the selling fee

eBay is not taking a commission for the time being. No selling fees. 0%. The seller gets 100% of the final bid price.

Final value fee is the selling fee. You’re thinking of the listing fee.

Oh my apologies for the bad information, I couldve sworn I read that final value fee still applies. My fault

I know it seems crazy that eBay would waive selling fees, but here is the screenshot from the Vault Fees page just to confirm it. Hoping it stays this way for a while, but I’m sure they will eventually charge a selling fee or increase the buyer’s premium. Either that or they will charge storage fees or make up some other fees.

No worries at all, it is unbelievable like @A.P.Speeze said!

I’m just now realizing how awkward it is if you got an authenticated card that you wanted shipped to you in person prior to putting it in your eBay vault.

I have a card that’s going from seller > authentication > me > authentication > vault lol. I get it why it is this way but still.

Just wanted to say that I am loving the eBay vault. I hope that a large number of slabs are sent there so vault-to-vault transactions become the norm.

International users still not a priority
