eBay requiring proof of payment for non-GSP packages

I recently sold two $500+ items on eBay and shipped without GSP. Upon arrival, both packages were held and proof of payment was requested so that the declared value could be confirmed. Has anyone else experienced this?

It seems as if full declaration will be required now for non-GSP items.

It has always been the case for me when purchasing from outside of the EU. If it stops in Customs I will get ask for proof of payment. If the value declared is different the highest will be considered.

I have never been asked proof of payment personally. Customs can ask it but they have never done so during all these years I’ve bought stuff from Japan and US. (I live in Finland)

if im understanding correctly, the customs are “calling you out” on the declared value? you can just inspect element the ebay page/receipt to show that the item price was 20$ or whatever value you declared.

Never happened to me, most of the time I don’t mark any value at all when I ship internationally unless if its a larger package. I’m located in Europe tho

Can you share which customs office held the items or at least the general area?
