eBay import charges????

Some people do in America but some people don’t why is this?

You need to start explaining what you mean more.

What you type is often too vague and we don’t understand what you mean. You will get a lot more help from us when you are specific =)

I think he meant to say why do some listings from America carry import charges whereas others don’t carry them. I personally don’t understand why that’s the case either, assuming I’ve understood his question correctly.

do you mean the global shipping program? on the listings some say import charges and some dont …the global program includes these import charges in the listing.

What I’m trying to say is that some eBay sellers from America or Canada, have import charges but some Americans and canada don’t. I’m just wondering why.

Have a look at the method of postage.

As stated above, shipping via the GSP will automatically calculate the import charges.

Those who don’t use the GSP will still have import charges, but they’ll be worked out when the item arrives in the UK

And then you hear the stories that some buyers that buy via GSP need to pay import charges via GSP and then again get import charges when it arrives… Maybe it’s just stories, but does anyone have experience with that?

Not to say that usually the GSP fees are higher than importing it yourself via someone that sells without GSP.

i’d reckon that would happen if Pitney Bowes messes up somehow or is too slow to provide paperwork of said charges already paid.
i personally avoid GSP like the plague.

I try to avoid GSP as much as possible. Most of the time I collect the low value cards, so when i pay $15-$20 for a card it seems a bit overkill to pay the same amount to ship it to me. unfortunatly sellers tend to stick with GSP, which is a shame because it isn’t worth it to me :stuck_out_tongue:
