eBay Garbage

Sorry. Which applies here: Fake? Low sale price? Damage?

For starters, the back of the card shown is for a more modern card and is certainly not s shining zard back…

I noticed a weird texturing on the face of the card, but I s’pose there are things I haven’t seen…

What you’re suggesting then, is that they cleverly damaged the edges on the back to hide the seam where they glued the back on. Makes sense. I see the edgewear looks like it was peeled and rolled (when wet?), not like it was chipped and nicked over time (which is usually what happens).

It may not even be glued on, could just have used a different card for the photo of the back.

The top card is my own beaten up neo destiny 1st Ed shining card and the bottom is a modern card. You can see the difference in colour between them. Think this change happened in like 2016, but could be wrong.

@xileets

Yeah, exactly. The front has a weird/different texture on it — I suppose a different paper was used to print the Charizak on.

But the worst part? They’ve damaged the fake… as to make it appear more “legitimate.” Similar fake copies also seem to have been selling for high-dollar to unsuspecting buyers. This is sad.

This time, eBay itself makes it into the eBay garbage thread.

I’m sure many of you who sell on eBay have realized your payouts from over the weekend have not hit your bank account. Apparently, there was a glitch for the weekend payouts and they were never actually sent to the bank. Tons of people on the eBay forum are complaining about this. Customer service reps have evidently been telling anyone who calls that they are now aware of the issue and it may take 48-72 hours to resolve.

This is the second time eBay has had an issue with payouts over the last six months or so, which is pretty inexcusable for such a large company. But to me, the worst part about all of it is not even the fact that they had a glitch; it’s the fact that there has been absolutely no transparency on their end. You would think they would send an e-mail out to their customers telling them they are working on the issue, but no e-mail has been sent.

Just incredibly unprofessional.

Was wondering about this as well…I saw that my Monday payout hit before Saturday and Sunday. Thanks for the heads up. You would think an email would have been sent out to the effected population so their phone lines wouldn’t get slammed

Same thing happened to me. The fact that we have to go to the eBay forums to find this out rather than finding out from eBay itself is beyond ridiculous. With the fees they charge sellers, their customer service should at least be adequate.

I have to be honest, i do tend to lean towards listings that show the card being protected in some way in at least one of the photos. You do also need to see the card outside of the sleeves, but ive found that ive had bad experiences with cards being damaged in shipping/ not packaged correctly from listings with no sleeves in listing. Idk maybe its more psychological.

I dont sell on ebay yet, but ive been attempting to sell my sneaker collection, pc hardware and some cards on local apps like Kijiji for like the last year and a half and BOY this thread speaks to many of my frustrations. Except instead of buying and cancelling, they make you an offer, you accept and then they ghost u. Or ive actually gone out to meet people or arranged a meeting and cleared my schedule only to have them not show up and never message me back. Such time wasters honestly

God bless new eBay sellers.

lol @ “but if it seems sketchy”

Check out the sleeve! Not even covering it all the way. I legit laughed.

I don’t think I’m getting my card.

Man I remember selling on eBay at 18 and trying to appear like an accomplished professional to buyers, kids these days don’t even know about cardboard

You should make a greatest hits collection thread of these. There is so much gold (pain) in all your interactions with these sketchy Ebay users.
