Trying to find a good copy of the Espeon VMAX Alt and came across one with good centering but in the pictures it’s sleeved and toploaded, and you can barely see the card due to the massive amounts of glare on the plastic.

Sorry for bothering you I guess? They also have neutral feedback with some bad shipping/packaging complaints, and the seller responses are all super snarky lol. I just more or less said “Never mind GLWS”

not saying this seller is a good seller but in his defense, 99% of people asking for more pictures don’t end up buying the item and thus just waste time. I’m willing to guess that this card is priced competitive enough that if you dont buy it, someone else will sight unseen.

Absolutely.

I can count on one hand how many times someone asked for more photos and actually made a purchase. As a matter of fact, the only times I can even remember it happening were with fellow E4 members. But on eBay? People who ask for more photos end up being time-wasters pretty much every single time.

That being said, it is also terrible business for sellers to post one or two crappy photos and expect that to comprise a good representation of the item they are selling. It actually boggles my mind that sellers still take photos of cards in top loaders. That is just peak laziness.

Taking photos in top loaders is probably 50% laziness, and 50% people thinking “I need to show people I am protecting the card” and also putting in title “ships in top loader”

This screams new and inexperienced ebay seller.

While that is absolutely true in many cases, you would be surprised how many legitimately experienced sellers engage in this practice.

You’re not wrong – I experience this myself as a seller. But I take great photos. This is what was on the listing:

I’m not expecting a 5d mk IV with studio lighting or anything. If anything I was just trying to gently explain to the seller he’d get more bites and fewer photo requests if it wasn’t toploaded.

Raw cards I usually take 10-12 photos out of sleeve. Slabs you’re just getting front and back.

Front and back is absolutely fine for slabs. I’m operating under the assumption that everyone here is just talking about raw cards.
