Sold a Gold Ring the other day, really cheap because I needed money quick to pay a medical bill.
Sold it less than scrap(it was an ugly peesonalized ring so not something of real value). After a few days of having it the lady messaged me claiming it was copper, just because it wasn’t stamped. The lady was an idiot because I tested it before listing it. It was a handmade piece so obviously not gonna be stamped.
Stampings dont meant anything when you can false stamp it. Testing it is the only way to know. I’ve had jewelry pieces in the past that were stamped and turned out to be false. So never go by stamps!
I told her she was more than free to take it to a pawn shop/gold buying place since they test for free.
Then she changed her story, she didnt want it because it was fading. Have no clue where she pulled that out of.
Didnt want negative feedback so I just told her to return it to me.
Then silence, no reply. Figured she was one of those scammers who try to get refunds and keep the item.
Well I called eBay anyways to report her just in case. Few minutes after the call I get an email saying this:
"eBay opened a case because of an issue with an item purchased from you. We reviewed the case and have decided to issue the buyer a refund without any impact to you.
This case is now closed. You are not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation.
You can view the details of the case in the Resolution Center."
So in the end she got what she wanted, and it didn’t affect me but still sucks that they get away with this…
Her username is this if you want to add her to your blocked list: lisalisa10
So you sold the item for the price you needed it to sell at, she got the item, and she essentially paid nothing? I must be reading this wrong because I didn’t know ebay was okay with taking an L
That’s not always true. Earlier this month a seller shipped an item tracked. The tracking said it arrived to my “zip code” but I haven’t received it. I created a case with ebay and they just closed it because “seller provided tracking” but not proof of shipping address. I called in ebay and tried to open up the case again but til now I still haven’t heard of anything back. Good thing I was able to work it out with the seller to find out that he shipped it to the “wrong address” across the street. Seller’s mistake yet I was about to take the hit for it.
