I received my secret santa package today! I planned to save it for Christmas, and that plan lasted all of 7 minutes and I opened it up. At first I didn’t know who my secret santa was, but soon found out it was @fourthstartcg! The head elf himself! Used elf magic to send the package from a US address to throw me off the scent, very clever.
First off will say how much I enjoyed each aspect being wrapped. It was so much fun opening each piece of the gift, and idk if it’s those Canadian trees you have up there, but this was really nice gift wrap. Having done quality checks on giftwrap for a few years, can confirm this is nice stuff.
The first aspect I was greeted with was this lovely card, and AMAZING sketch of the metagod himself, metapod. It’s so well done, I’m sitting here waiting for it to use harden
Along with that was a nice signed card on a reverse holo from unbroken bonds, one of the better artworks for metapod imo
The next little package I opened contained a double blister pack containing Guardians Rising and Steam Siege! And can’t forget about some gorgeous Raikou, Suicune, and Entei promos. I am more likely to be hit by two city buses in a day than pull anything good from a pack, so am leaving it sealed for now. I didn’t include anything in my SS blurb about it, but I love cosmos foil blister pack promos. They’re such beautiful cards, and I love looking at them.
Next up, I was greeted by a deck box that would make a certain 19th century Dutch painter proud, a double deck box from the Van Gogh collection! Inspired by Wheatfield with Crows, it’s such a beautiful piece of merch! Very happy to add to my collection!
And last but not least, a couple graded cards. Since receiving these cards, I have had to complete a sweep of my home for microphones, and check my computer for tracking software, because these two cards are some of my favorites I’ve wanted to buy for over a year and haven’t pulled the trigger on. I am a huge full art nerd, and love gen 2, so seeing these cards greet me with all of the textured glory floored me.
First off, a PSA 9 1st Ed Entei from Dark Rush. Entei is such a cool Pokemon, and this full art is outstanding. So happy to own it.
And the last package I opened, THE TIME TRAVELING ONION HIMSELF
PSA 9 Unlimited Cold Flare Celebi. I love this card so much. Celebi is a protector of the forest, and one of my all time favorites, and this card just captures it so well. The little scowl on its face, once again disappointed that humans have probably screwed something up, but also saying “hold my beer” and it’s going to head to the past to make things better.
