Played Gen 8 OU Singles against @Littu just now and had a blast. Despite winning 2-0 these were tight games where all the stops had to be pulled out. I definitely underseeded him not knowing his experience with competitive battles. ggs and hope to play again!
@Swinub you’re up against Littu in Singles now. Unfortunate result of my seeding and not knowing the new player’s skill. One of you will be bowing out to Little Cup early.

I think i have a game with @Swinub but i may take a little break upto next week though before playing it.. Played 3 games within a week and needed that rest. Will ping you by next week for singles swinub in mean time the remaining round 1 matches could go forward i guess as we already progressed them..

The Kartana issue sounds like “doubles OU” was selected rather than “VGC 2021”. Doubles OU is a fanmade format that Smogon players use. As such, they ban stuff they don’t like. Kartana, dynamax and everything else will be legal if you choose the correct format we’re playing for this tournament.

Wow, these were close games. Lyle was able to hold his own quite well!
Something to note with Swiss is that even if you don’t win your set taking a game is still huge for tie-breakers to determine ranking and ultimately who makes final bracket. Every little bit counts in this format!

These are seriously great games. A max flutterby from lyle’s centiskorch instead of the gmax inferno on the tyranitar in game 1, could have made some difference in the results, but that’s minor miss in the heat of battle. These are great games though…
If other battles go 2-0, then there may be a chance for me to battle @lyleberr in next swiss round as both are in 2-1 (or doesn’t it work that way idk). Anyways his team is extraordianarily solid and I need to get prepared if there is a chance for me to face him in future…
