Fantastic games to kick the tournament off! I have never seen Gen 8 Singles before so there were some very fun strategies being displayed.

I should have all teams by Wednesday night so we’ll be good to start then.
Really looking forward to running Swiss as well. Every game you win will matter (even if you don’t win a set) since the system ranks according to sets won > games won > wins on stronger players.

VGC 2021 Swiss Bracket: Round 1: Thu Feb 5, 2026 - Sun Feb 22, 2026
Randomized pairings for the first Swiss round of the VGC 2021 bracket are up! All players have until Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Midnight (PST) to complete their best of 3 match.

There will be no extensions in order to keep the tournament running. Please reach out to me if there were difficulties scheduling your match and I will making a ruling on who to assign the win & loss to. Players who were unable to play their match will still advance in the tournament (but please don’t intentionally skip rounds as this harms the experience for others).
There will be 4 rounds of Swiss total, before we move into the Top 8 Cut/Little Cup final bracket phase. Each Swiss bracket will be roughly 2 weeks in length to give players ample time to schedule and play their match.

Don’t worry, everything will even out by the later Swiss rounds so if you got a rough initial draw a loss won’t set you back very far. Once final bracket hits, everyone is in the same boat anyway.

Also, I just realized. Since the previous VGC champion bule is not competing in VGC this time, defeating the previous runner-up @wisewailmer in VGC will award you the King Slayer badge.
