Yep, I used to follow competitive melee so im spun up on that system! Mango would always be in losers. This may be the route we take! Hmmm
Oh great if you know smash then yeah its just like that!
If we do run with best of 3/double elim, I’d strongly suggest having a rule that players can’t swap teams between games within the same set (swapping teams for a different opponent is fair game as Smogon tourneys allow this). What makes a longer set interesting is the adaptation from knowing your opponent’s Pokemon and moves.
Yes definitely. Once you enter each set you are locked into those 6 pokemon - once you move onto the next round is when you can change teams!
I need to draft up a rule list that will try to cover everything and pin it in here next week.
Count the most based vgc goat in
Bump for awareness, rules and pairings will be finalized and posted this Sunday the 26th
Maybe do it like a good 'ol regional with swiss rounds ala league table then top 16 or whoever.
I’m in bad circumstances atm, If I can get time and I do stress on that then go on then. It’s just that, it’s jen 2.
No idea how to build teams ngl.
Hey everyone, here is the bracket setup! This is a double elimination, best of 3 tournament! For example: @cooltrainertony and @thymeee will play a best of 3 format, and the loser of that round will move to the losers bracket.
Rules:
- Full 6v6 - must click “[Gen 2] OU” format, however once in the team builder you can use any other tier (UUBL, UU, NU, PU, etc).
- You cannot change teams during a best of 3 set, but you can change between brackets. For example: @sherotcg cant change teams during his matches with @ddk, but he can change teams before his matches with @Seasidepokemon (assuming he wins the first round).
- No obnoxious stalling, Gen 2 certainly introduced some channels for that so please try to keep it to a minimum and with a hastening purpose.
- Lastly, communicate with your opponents! There is no time limit on this but lets keep it realistic, it is on both sides to progress, so do your part and have fun!
@caughtatpoint, @Will, @SeasidePokemon, @cosrob, @pfm, @ddk, @mossdeep, @thymeee, @cooltrainertony, @trainerjack, @sherotcg
Oh, also if anyone is concerned with the first round buys - they are totally random and necessary with tournaments that don’t have 4 or 8 participants.
Had a very good set against @sherotcg. Replays below:
Game 1: [Gen 2] OU: dondonkun vs. sherdoubledragon - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
Game 2: [Gen 2] OU: sherdoubledragon vs. dondonkun - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
Game 3: [Gen 2] OU: sherdoubledragon vs. dondonkun - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
Won 2-1 against @SeasidePokemon. Another set of very close but enjoyable games!
Game 1: [Gen 2] OU: dondonkun vs. SeasidePokemon - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
Game 2: [Gen 2] OU: SeasidePokemon vs. dondonkun - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
Game 3: [Gen 2] OU: SeasidePokemon vs. dondonkun - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
I’ll be out of town until Dec 14 so if possible I’d prefer to wait until then to play my next match. Hopefully you guys don’t go too fast.
haxxed my way through 2 matches with @pfm, many critical hits/paralyzes when they counted unfortunately.

Edit: Woops I didn’t save either match, both links expired
