Hi guys,
I am looking for some advice from those grading from Europe and choose to ship their cards through FEDEX.
So far I did 3 submissions with PSA, but only once I managed to receive the cards without additional costs through customs. Some say that you should be able to get this tax free as the cards were yours to begin with.
However, FEDEX charges my creditcard automatically and its a nightmare trying to get it back. Last submission I called them 5+ times prior and after receiving the package, each time their employee told me something different. I filed atleast 3 claims through their website in various ways (with help of the employee) and I never had a reply back other then an automated confirmation email.
I also tried sending them several direct emails about it with photos and additional info. I tried sending it to different emailaccounts, again with help of the employee. Never had a reply back. The one time I got my package back without paying duty it took a week before they cleared the package and they never charged my account afterwards.
So in other words, does everyone pay duty over the service fee or am I missing something? This is the reason why I ship a minimum of 100+ cards to spread the costs per card. But it does add 3/4 euro extra per card/average when you have to pay duty.
This makes my average grading costs €16/€17 per card. Without duty, its somewhere around €13 per card. Its hard to find help as not many people grade cards in Europe and those that do rather have less competition so offer no help.
