Okay guys, this is not collecting related issue that I’m having at the moment but as I know the forum is full of people who have dealt with different kinds of problems with sellers and with PayPal, so I would like to know what you think about this and if Paypal is going to decide on my favor.
You will need a bit of a backstory to understand my situation. This is not about a purchase from eBay, but a purchase I made on another online store and paid with PayPal.
So, I ordered a jacket and a t-shirt from Sauber Formula 1 Team’s store. I placed a pre-order for those products as those were my favorite driver’s new merchandise and I really wanted them. It was the last day of August (2016) when I made the order. During the time the site said those products would be available in the middle of September. Ok, I was ready to wait. Then they changed the date to the end of September and after that once more to the middle of October. I thought, ah crap, more waiting… But I was ok with the fact I already made the order so those would be sent to me on the release date.
But then, October passed. The site still showed the same thing, available in middle October. I was getting worried and on November I sent a message to the online store through their contact field on the site asking when those products will be available. I never got a response. After waiting for 2 weeks I went and send an email to their direct email address, asking the same thing. Never got a response.
November passed and I tried to contact them various times on December, no response. I also noticed that their site still said available on middle October, but those products were “out of stock” so nobody could order them anymore. I was getting mad and really wanted to know what is going on. I contacted the Sauber F1 Team on social media asking if they know anything about those products. Finally I got a message from their social media person saying they had some problems with getting these products and asked if I contacted the store to try to get a refund. I told him I’ve tried to get contact with them countless times but I never got response to anything. I followed his advice and messaged the online store again. Surprise surprise, no response.
After a few days I contacted the social media person again and copy pasted all the emails I sent to the store before and asked if he could forward them to someone who works with the online store. He said he would do so. Guess if I ever got any contact from them? Nope!
I realized I will never get my money back this way so thankfully I realized I paid with PayPal and can open a item not received case. I did. Guess if they never responded to the case? Nope. I opened a claim and explained all of this to PayPal. They have until 22nd to give PayPal a response. I doubt they will.
Also fun fact, I tried to show PayPal how the store still shows available middle October, but… the online store is down! You can check by yourself: store.sauberf1team.com/
So, I’m sure they are not going to respond anything to the claim. I’ve also provided the proof to PayPal that the store is down at the moment. I’ve told them all the details about this case. So if they don’t respond to the claim, what happens? Do you think I will get my money back? I’m worried nothing will happen if they don’t respond. The jacket and shirt weren’t cheap so I really want and deserve to get my money back. I tried to solve this nicely but only got ignored…
And yeah you can be sure even if the site goes back up I will never buy from them anymore. Thankfully my favorite driver doesn’t even drive for the team anymore this year…
