95% of everything, I never really had a large enough pause in collecting to justify getting rid of things. I have sold over the years some of my old holos once I completed the sets to simplify things. Next time I am at my parents I want to find a checklist I had from 2002 to keep track of all my cards.
@mykel, makes me wish I documented all the cards originally from my childhood to compare to know. I’d never have predicted my collection would come this far though
Regarding my childhood collection, I wish I would have kept it completely separate from newer additions. When I got back into the hobby several years ago I bought a bunch of random lots of cards. I completely absorbed everything into my main collection so there’s no way for me to tell the cards apart. Of course there are specific cards I know were always mine, but it would have been nice if I could say the same about entire binders/boxes.
Oh well, it’s a pretty minor regret to have. At least I didn’t sell the cards… I was seconds away from selling my entire collection to someone for $300 back in 2012. Now that would have been something to really regret.
I also have all of my childhood Pokemon from Yellow. I didn’t know anything about cartridge batteries and saves at the time, but I ended up storing my Gen 1 Pokemon on Stadium back in the day, where they still reside to this day.
Lost all my Silver Pokemon though. F for Lugia folks.
I still have all my childhood cards, except for those I traded away as a kid. I also have all my little brothers cards.
Apart from cards, I was never too interested in Pokémon stuff. I had some pogs that we collected from super market actions, which I sold a couple of years ago. I now have those again from my little brothers collection, which I honestly might just keep after all.
I think I also have a mini game in the shape of a Pokéball somewhere. It was kinda like a miniature game console, and I remember you had to shake it when you wanted to catch a Pokémon. And I of course have my binders that I had for over 20 years, and which I definitely won’t be using anymore considering their bad shape, haha.
So awesome! I hadn’t considered people may still have the actual digital Pokémon they caught in the games still to this day. I’d keep those as long as I could too.
@bluebulba , that guide was my favorite as well!
Although I don’t have a whole lot from early childhood, I still have everything from my Pokémon collection which was started in middle school. I’m very thankful for that. Once I finish up a few things, I might make my own collection thread to share more.
Here’s one original piece I keep out in my study:
@brendantheclayboy , isn’t that image (the three-trainer face-off by Sugimori) the best? It’s also featured on the cover of the Japanese guide I mentioned in your collection thread!
I knew I had a photo of the box somewhere. Not everything, just 2 shoeboxes worth (packs are all wrappers or open, fun thing is that some of the base wrappers are triangle errors). I also have other toys, guides, and posters elsewhere.
