Do Japanese SuMo sets have 1st Ed prints or not?

Feeling like a scrub for asking this, but I haven’t opened any new Japanese sets or bought cards yet from them.

Do any of the Japanese sets/ Sun/Moon and forward have a 1st edition print run? Question applies to all special sets too SM+/BoXY

I’m pretty sure sun & moon doesn’t have a first edition run. I bought a bunch of boxes upon release but all of them were unlimited and the shops all have card scans of unlimited print cards. I can’t say for sure for anything SM+ or after since I haven’t bought any of those yet. Seems like they discontinued 1st edition prints, and shops I frequent don’t have any 1st edition prints of BoXY either for their images so I am assuming they stopped 1st edition runs altogether.

If you are thinking about values of HR cards, consider this;

The pull rates haven’t been confirmed, but from people who I know who have opened cases, they seem to speculate the pull rates for HRs are 1:4 to 1:6 (cases of S&M being 12 boxes).

If you couple this with the fact that the GX cards have a black line that go through the center of the border, it can make them appear OC without actually really being OC. This makes them more susceptible to being graded lower (just look at the pop reports).

Imo, PSA 10 copies / well cantered raw copies of HR cards are a decent item to invest in if you can get a good price on them.

Well I think I did alright last night, bought Umbreon and Espeon GX Hyper Japanese PSA 10, 1st ed ungraded Plasma Zard (probably 8 worthy), and PSA 9 Rockets Persian ex for $120 USD

Damn that cheap for the hypers? I really need the umbreon so this was a good question. Hopefully i can wait for an auction instead of dropping the 150 or so people seem to want.
