Exactly how rare are these? I wanted to buy a copy but saw that a seller on eBay had multiple copies and that got me thinking that maybe they aren’t that rare.

I would question the rarity of this card too, with the amount of old promos that some people acquire these days, like the Sealed Entei movie ones. There could be a box full of Persian errors, who knows?
There’s 53 PSA graded but only one 10 and 33 9s. That’ll give you some idea:)

I talked to a former WotC employee that had a “stack” of them stashed away. Seems like a lot of them left the facility in the hands of employees and not in small quantities. If/ when they will surface is another question.

Maybe they have super slowly released a few already, which would be the correct way to maintain the market value for the card vs. how gold star dogs were publicly displayed and dumped …

Well, I paid a little bit over that for my copies a few years ago, so its a good time to buy one right now as thepokemonshark has saturated the market somewhat with his stack being available at a lower price for a while now
