CT Scanning Services to 3D Render for Holo Now Available

Well said @gengarbrigade
Also concerning that someone here thinks it is ok to scan a pack, and if no holo then it can be resold without any disclosure. I think it’s important to just be transparent.

At max 3000 people worldwide will care about CT scanning. It is more than likely that this has been private knowledge for a long time and became public knowledge recently. It is what it is, I don’t think the market will change at all other than weird shifts in listings. Sealed products r still valuable sealed even if they have literal dog water pulls.

Who is supporting that? Surely you don’t mean me?

Rage-bait? Nice insta.

Perhaps you meant the company itself, which is figuring out what they are doing? Or maybe someone else here?

I am definitely not talking about you.

The xray machine theyre using seems like an older cheaper model that they could have used years ago. My question is why now? This could have been done a awhile ago when pokemon was jumping at all time highs and Im sure people have been thinking about doing this for awhile. So all of a sudden this becomes news and they put in their disclaimer that basically states “its not that accurate and we can try our best, its hit or miss but SOMETIMES it works!” I feel like this wont effect much regardless if they can scan a small percentage of wotc era packs accurately. Theres hundreds or thousands if not a million more wotc packs that wont be able to be scanned easily just like they admitted its very tough and “well try our best” true words of encouragement right there… oh and “give us 75 bucks and maybe youll get lucky” incredible stuff.

No matter how many videos the same two people keep putting out about xrays… showing us the packs they can actually see out of the many packs they cant, it wont do much imo. Its interesting and I appreciate them sharing the info with the community but this is flakey news to me as of now. The “potential” of this news scary yea but this aint it. For the amount of wotc era packs out there + this being flakey + very challenging to use the machine, this is like a drop of water in the ocean. At this time, the only thing I see changing is the word “unweighed” to “unscanned” on my ebay search. Which virtually changes nothing.

How does one provide accurate insurance for something that “could” be worth more coming back is what I waw thinking.

Assume you are able to now sell a confirmed scanned 1st ed base set booster with a charizard. What would be your estimate for the packs value?

Picking up two of these and owning this “market” from top to bottom. PSA level website design and process with WebGL output in app and browser as soon as the scan completes. Shops can set up distributor accounts and route all of their product to me for prescanning.

You’re all fucked.

EDIT & UPDATE: got me and my wife these matching work uniforms to wear while we scan boxes of a childrens card game all day

We’re flexing buying a CT scanner for scanning pokemon cards. Now granted, I cant tell people how to spend your money but this is batshit wild. As a son of a hospital nurse, These things are very much needed in the medical industry. I needed to have to take one of these at one point. Taking even one of these to use for a mere object for scanning cardboard is extremely and morally fucked up. I’ve heard my mom tell stories of people with brain cancer and god knows what having their lives saved because of this.

These people dont have moral values or pretty much any values at all anymore. This almighty fucking dollar has transcended all of that.

If this is the future of card selling, I’m out.

There’s no shortage of CT scanners. Non-medical companies can and do buy CT scanners for industrial purposes. That’s what’s going on here.

In other words, companies that scan things other than humans can exist without affecting patient care in hospital settings.

Seems weird to possibly risk reprimanding (or worse) at your actual day job for this.

And no one is questioning how they pulled a dark charizard from a gym challenge pack? Its not even a believable scam but it is a good way to have your packs walk away.
edit: Apparently I didnt read what they said because I assumed it was all marketing. It says it was just to show they could do it.

A verifiable trusted service doing this isnt a bad thing but this is already highlighting how the only businesses that will be respected are ones that can prove they have standards.

Read his post again. He says it’s an opened pack. He never said he pulled charizard from it.
