I just remembered, my family found this comic type book and some old newspapers from the 1940s under the floorboards of an old house we lived in about 16 years ago, would you know anything about it?

“1940s under the floorboards of an old house”

Sounds like the start of a big find… But sorry I don’t know about this era. So can’t shed any light. I’m sure there is some comic people around here

Cool find, never seen that before but I do know that it is printed by Ayers an Australian reprint company who did the Classic Illustration reprints. Judging by the price of 1/6 it is from 1960s as 1940s/50s books will have price in “D”. The lower the price in D the earlier it might be example here is a copy of Australian reprint Superboy #1 from 1949 with 6D price:

thats some great info, thanks very much

No problemo  does it have any information like publisher etc inside, maybe first page etc.?

heres a pic of the back cover and inside the first page

Actually I would put it in late 50s early 60s and not by Ayers but by Mirror Newspapers as it says there - most likely a reprint of comic strips from that newspaper. Pretty hard to find! One of those comics that might go for a lot if someone really needs a #10 to complete the set or a little if nobody likes it lol! Australian reprints are crazy it all depends on the collector there are no real price points

Considering that Sgt. Bilko ad the comic had to be published in the late 50s or 60s cause that’s when the Phil Silvers show aired.
