It’s still diversification.
They wouldn’t have bought it if there wasn’t an opportunity.

Well, tbh Beckett has BAS, which is very valuable, I remember reading somewhere their authentication volume for last year and it was way bigger than their grading volume.
Also Beckett bought some AI technology company 2 years ago, which probably had some interesting tools for their company too.
holy pareto principle batman.
Looks like the changes are starting. The cert page on beckett.com now features an area for scans. I haven’t been able to find an actual scan yet, but I would think this means that in the weeks ahead new orders will start to be scanned before being sent back to the customer.
This is exciting!
That’s a pretty healthy increase wouldn’t you say? Not everything related to grading and/or companies has to be a conspiracy ![]()
Can we wait longer than a month to assess their performance? lol
Its 2 technically lol but I do agree, it’s too early to call it “killing another competitor”
I would be more interested in year over year performance over the next 5 years. Every company is going to be experiencing an influx in 2025/2026 because of the boom and renewed interest in grading. Let’s wait to see how they perform under a bust cycle.
And to be clear, I want them to succeed, even though I wish it was a different company to allow them to do that.
Fully agreed and I get the sentiment tbh. SGC isn’t looking too good either. Let’s see how it unfolds!
I don’t think it’s conspiratorial to believe one company would buy another to remove it as a competitive threat. That could be true even if BGS continues to grow.
Good to see that they grade more card at BGS, because I have never had this long return as now before
Even if Beckett continues to grow, couldn’t it be said that PSA removed a competitor while giving new features (assuming scans are coming) and calming worries of Beckett going under while your cards were in their possession before the acquisition? Seems like a win on all fronts for people that enjoy Beckett grading.
