I really don’t know what to buy. Just need tips on what’s interesting to buy, collected a few japense holo’s from bundles, off eBay. Bit stuck on what to buy. Packs, booster boxes etc. Just need some help.

Collect what brings you the most joy, what brings back the best memories.

It definitely depends on your budget. Collect cards that bring nostalgia, that bring back the memories of your childhood. There is no right or wrong answer to your question.

About £100 max.

I started to collect sets but got bored of that. So started to buy bundles of folders etc. But I like opening packs old or new.

So I think a good thing to consider is what brings you joy, as @garyis2000 said.
If you like opening packs old/new, perhaps collecting packs will bring you joy?
Perhaps you want to have the nostalgia of opening up a Base Set Charizard? Maybe you want to gamble on lots to get amazing cards to trade?

Whatever it may be, it must be intrinsic and we can’t force our collecting habits onto you :blush:

Unfortunately we can’t decide what you should collect. That’s something for yourself to decide. Perhaps if collecting doesn’t bring you joy, it just isn’t something for you? Everyone has their own interests in life. We can’t decide what brings you joy. No one can, not even your close family and friends; only you can.

But since you seem to want to collect, but are not sure what, we can just name all kind of different (Pokémon-related) collection goals, and you can decide for yourself which ideas you like:

  • If you like opening packs, how about this: Collecting empty pack artworks.
    Just try to find one of each pack, open them for your joy, and at the same time you have a new empty pack for your collection. :blush:
  • Collect all variations of your favorite Pokémon. Or if your budget is limited, one of each of its artworks.
  • Collect a certain (Master) set
  • Collect one of each Pokémon (all 802 - as well as all their variations like Unown, Deoxys forms, Deerling seasons, Vivlion regions, Fossils, etc.)
  • Collect misprints
  • Collect PSA1 through 10 of a certain card (maybe not very wise considering your limited budget, though)
  • Collect one of each unique holo type (silver border, gold borders, full art, reverse holo, reverse foil, etc. etc.)
  • Collect booster packs
  • Collect booster boxes (yeah, not gonna happen with a tight budget, but just naming it for others that might read this)
  • Collect non-TCG cards or Pokémon merchandise
  • 1000 of the same card to fill a complete binder (I personally don’t see the point, but I know some people who do this)
  • etc.

@ticktock2 Two tips:

  • You can tag multiple people so they get a notification by using the “Insert user link” feature, or using @ + their name, like @Quuador (NOTE: @ name does not always work with older accounts that had a name-change in the past). So you could post your collection link, and tag all the people that you wanted to show it to.

  • You can edit your posts if you made a mistake.
