Hello, what is the rarer one ?
Hi, welcome to the forum! From my experience, 2012 seems just slightly rarer than 2013, but both were very difficult to find. I’ve only ever seen 3 copies of 2013 and 2 of 2012 for sale, but I’ve also stopped looking since I got both of mine.
The thing with these is that they’re niche promos in a language that’s not English or Japanese, so there aren’t very many people that want them in the first place. These were also handed out via league play, so players that got these for participation likely want to keep them. Best of luck if you’re hunting these down yourself!
Hello fellow Piplup lover. First off, absolutely love the more recent update to the spreadsheet. I’ve been lurking and following along for a little while now. I’ve used your sheet to adapt for my own Piplup collection. I’m going for all English and unique holos/stamps of other languages. So a very big thank you for the spread sheet, it is a huge help.
I have a question. Under “Scarlet & Violet Era Promos”, What are the CN-T stamps? The INDO ones have different numbers than you have listed and I cannot find an example of the Chinese ones.
Hi there! Obligatory “welcome to the forum” even though you said you’ve been lurking! I’m so glad me sheet has helped with your own collection- research and cataloging is one of my favorite things about the hobby, and I’m honored to know it’s been of use!
The CN-T stamps are very similar to the Indonesian ones, as they’re the set logo stamp in Traditional Chinese. Notably, these and the Indonesian ones are reverses while the Thai ones are nonholo. This photo is from my middleman, but these should be arriving to me in a few weeks, and I can provide better photos then.
In all languages, these promos were for purchasing a certain number of Phantasmal Flames/Inferno X packs, and you received a promo pack containing cards in this set at random. Indonesian and Traditional Chinese promo setlists are the same, while Thai had a different selection of cards in their promo packs.
Feel free to ask if you have any additional questions about these or any other prints!
Thank you for the image. It does show the numbers you have in the sheet. I see your sheet indicates that you already have the Indonesian ones. Would you mind double checking them? These are the ones I have and the numbers don’t match. From what I could research before getting these, I couldn’t find anything with the 23 and 28 numbers. I’ll have to do more digging for the Chinese ones, since they obviously do exist.
Ah, I see what you mean! It looks like I was using that line in my sheet as a placeholder before I got these in and knew the numbering for certain (since the I had a photo of the Chinese ones first). I must have forgotten to update that when these arrived- I’ll get that corrected, thank you for pointing that out!
Here are my Indonesian prints:
And my Thai ones:
Apologies for the confusion, hopefully this is helpful!
Glad I could help in some way. Other than hunting down the Chinese ones, I think I’m caught up one that set. There’s still a lot of older cards to get.
Wow you made a lot of progress and significant. Happy belated find on the unlimted japanese card you needed. Seeing the unique promos from Indonesia, Thailand and Korea are always fun since they are with brands local to those places. Very mysterious!
I appreciate it, thanks again! While I’m here, if you collect Dawn as well, there are 3 other promos that are coming out soon: Ultra Ball League stamps in English (SEA exclusive), Traditional Chinese, and Thai! I’m adding those to the sheet now, as I’ve been a bit behind. Good luck with your own collection!
Thank you so much! I’m definitely happy to not have to zoom in on artifacted nookia photos on Mercari anymore for sure. The promos from other regions are really fun, and I especially love all of the unique stamps from around the world too.
This listing made me think of you
Thank you for the link!! I do already have those, so I wish the other Piplup collectors here a very happy Please Buy Those, lol. I appreciate you looking out!
Time for another big package courtesy of @zaneat - thank you for once again being an awesome middleman!
First, everything all together:
This assortment contains a bunch of cards I’ve had on order for several months now, and I’m super happy to have them in hand finally. Most of these are smaller pickups to fill in gaps, but I’ll highlight a few standouts and favorites here too.
My personal favorite of the batch:
This Polish reverse Piplup is my 6th Polish card out of 9 total I’m in need of! It’s been a blast hunting these down over the years, and I’m extremely happy to have this one safely in my binder. It also completes the page it’s featured on, but more on that in a moment.
Next up:
This super ultra beat up copy of a Spanish Prinplup from the Burger King promotion! I’ve tried to order this card six different times, and they all either got cancelled or I was sent the incorrect card. I’m way more excited about this one than I should be given it’s condition that will likely need an upgrade down the road, but a filled slot is a filled slot, and the binder page this one’s on is complete as well!
After that, we have this one:
Shoutout to Sylv for locating this SCB deck Empoleon for me! If you’re unfamiliar, the special randomized constructed decks in this series (SCA, SBC, SCC, etc) are both a pain to find to open to try to gamble for the card you need, and are also just a nightmare to find singles for in general. Having this one in hand is huge!
And finally:
The Empoleon LV.X in Korean. This is one of my favorite Empoleon artworks, and is beautiful condition too.
Bonus:
Not from the Zane package, but this Latin American Spanish 30th Anni Partner Pack Piplup is absolutely adorable! Thank you again @torterrasimp for splitting the lot with me!
For this batch, I’ve completed 5 total binder pages! The Phantasmal pages will become incomplete again when Simplified Chinese drops later on, but I’m enjoying these pages all filled out for now. Here’s a little peak at those in all of their glory:
And last but not least, a spreadsheet update as well. I’ve decided to shift my collection goals away from jumbos at the moment to focus exclusively on regular sized TCG cards, so I’ve removed them from the goal counter for myself. They’re still catalogued, they just won’t count toward the totals (unless I have them) anymore.
As always, thank you for reading, and happy collecting!
Polish reverse, randomized starter deck and Korean LV. X? Lots of hard to find pickups there, congratulations!
big update thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! I’ve been extremely lucky these past few months slowly picking off difficult prints. Super happy to have these checked off!
Thank you too!
I just discovered that there are technically three different versions of this sleeve that appear to have been released at different times. I didn’t know if you knew, so I thought to share.
I totally missed your reply here, I’m so sorry! That’s super interesting, I know other sleeve sets have gotten different border color prints before, but I wasn’t aware of this one in particular. I’ll have to add it to my sheet, thank you for the heads-up!
Mail day today! A small package from Korea, but some very exciting cards in here nonetheless.
In this package are some difficult to find deck cards, cameo prints, the elusive Korean EBB, and reverse SM5+!
Filling in some gaps today, I’ve got two more completed pages as well:
And possibly the most exciting update of all, I’m now officially at 999 unique cards for the Piplup line and Dawn (and all of their cameos), which means I’ve now hit my goal for 2026 of 85%+ completion! Of course, the possibility of more cards getting released is always on the horizon, but I’m very happy with my progress for this year so far.
As always, thanks for reading, and happy collecting!
the finished pages are so satisfying to look at ahhh!!! congrats on meeting your goal, and not even halfway through the year ![]()
