I always say it’s a matter of time before a species collector goes all language, so keeping them as a reminder is a lovely idea.

Hi, welcome to the forum! And yet ANOTHER Haunter collector. Our numbers grow.
Citrina already answered you, but you’ve got a long road ahead. In all the time I’ve been collecting, I haven’t seen a single unlimited XY8 out and about. I only have it because @bbobrob spotted one and grabbed it for me.
That said, other collectors in this very thread have found them in the time since, so it’s definitely possible. Just keep going and you’ll get there.

Thank you and thank you for your incredible spreadsheet! I’ve started to convert it for my wife’s leafeon master set!
It’s gonna be a long road but it’ll be fun. I was able to snag the English Paradise resort card for a fairly decent price, and I’ve grabbed the base set variants to really start my set. Just gotta get them in the binder and get my proxies in!

@dextersarus eeveeteam’s guide here is one of the best ways to go about searching for these difficult unlimited cards. And the earlier you get comfortable with possible daily searches, the better (luck favors the prepared!) 
If I remember right, I found the circlehunter’s unlimited Haunter searching just “ゴースト” (very general search term of just “Haunter”) on Mercari Japan and trudging through the listings. I ended up finding it in a small Haunter lot that had no mention of XY at all.
I also like how this collection thread has become the de facto hang out for all the Haunter species collectors

THE HAUL IS HERE.
Featuring a little shiny Gyarados print! Please excuse the lighting, it’s a little scuffed at the moment. I would like to thank in particular the wonderful eBay seller “kaleidum_tcg” for expressing their interest in my collection and supplying me with that unlimited MF at the top left.
We have here the two from Start Deck 100, all three from Ascended Heroes, and both of those pesky Mirage Forest variants from a few posts ago. This brings me ONCE AGAIN (but really for the first time, technically) to 100% completion of my English and Japanese goal.
I have some binder management to do, so no updated photos of that quite yet.
That said, I am now reconsidering the Fossil 3rd print’s place. I do not currently at the time of posting consider it part of the main collection. But…I feel like I should. And because I need to shift some cards around to make room anyway, maybe this is the perfect time to start the search. I welcome any input on this. So far I’ve only managed to find them slabbed, which I’m NOT interested in. Definitely something to consider. (EDIT: NOT A CONCERN ANYMORE!)
(ignore the fact that Phantasmal Flames is the last set I have listed internationally, shh)

I’ve bought some of the random non tcg stuff I think my fav is the monopoly card I’ve also gotten a couple cool custom proxy cards of our boy that I really like the look of, just need to get some time to actually put it in the binder!

Just as a heads-up, there’s a seller on Ebay US (COMC) that has some Russian cards. Unfortunately, not the reverse holo, but the non-holo Russian Haunter is available. I don’t do all languages, so I don’t know how the price compares, but it seems reasonable enough (enough that I picked up some Russian cards myself some time back ).

This is probably the lowest I’ll see it for tbh. During a failed group buy thread a while back, the Russian seller wanted something like 120 for both if I’m remembering correctly.
Dutch and Polish would be really neat to complete as well, but what a horrible time for a US buyer to try.

Quick update! I’m pretty bad at doing these and actually showing off the spoils because everything gets tossed into the binder immediately, oops.
HOWEVER:
MIRAGE FOREST IS NO LONGER A PROBLEM.
This was actually much easier than I anticipated. It also means that my celebration a while back about completing EN/JP was premature, but we’ll talk about that more when my next target arrives.

You have a 1999-2000 haunter on the way?! Very nice… the guy who was gonna sell me one just stopped responding so that fell through

Ah, that’s extremely unfortunate. I hope you’re able to find one again soon. I was lucky to have one of our fellow Haunter collectors approach me with an ongoing listing, and I jumped at it immediately.
I’ll keep my eyes open, the least I can do is pay it forward.
