Chorizord's Original Pokedex Alternate Artwork Collection

Hello E4 frens,
I wanted to share with you a binder that is very personal to me, that I’ve been working on continually since 2014 - my original Pokedex alternate artwork binder. It’s the most enjoyable binder experience, barring my childhood binder, that best represents my love for the hobby and collecting spirit. Graded chase cards are great, but for me they don’t even come close to binders in terms of enjoyment and not worrying about neurotic things like condition and centering. All cards from Rocket through to Skyridge are game, as well as any original/neo/e-series Japanese promos. Since this is alternative art, no cards from Base Set, Jungle or Fossil are included. The main requirement for this binder is that I like the artwork! I particularly like artworks with sunsets, warm colours, as well as architecture in the background.

A little binder quirk I personally do for the Pokedex is to include Mysterious fossil just after Porygon and before Omanyte. It’s the basic Pokemon in the fossil evolution line. It makes the last double page spread so much nice as Articuno can join Moltres and Zapdos in one row, the Dragonite evolution family in one row, and Mewtwo and Mew in one row.

The binder is never finished, as I continually update it with other alternate artworks I want - such as the Skyridge H19 Magneton, Masaki Promos…

Hope you enjoy!

Yours truly,

Chorizord (unironic)

Verrrrrry nice, excellent choice of cards. Pokedex binders might be my favorite thing to look at. I need to get around to uploading mine.

Thanks @thane - I’ve spent years curating these pages haha. The Pokédex is everything! Look forward to seeing yours!

Amazing picks for artworks! A lot of them I would have picked myself if I had them for my National Index.

Will you one day go after other generations, or stick with the gen 1 until you have your favorite artwork of each including very rare ones?

Greetz,
Quuador

Thanks @quuador !! I will probably get the first generation cards I really want first. I’ve have actually started the second Generation binder version, however I haven’t really been motivated to finish it yet, maybe one day!

100% agree the best feel is to look at all the old arts in a binder and rest from the neurotic graded world, with no concerns in your mind. Great idea enjoyed every pic!
