I’ve been collecting Blastoise cards for a while now and feel my collection has evolved immensely since I started mid-2013.

I believe, but I may be wrong, TCG wise, I have one of every version of English Blastoise cards (non-holo, holo, reverse-holo, promo, etc) and one of each Japanese Exclusive.
If you know of any I am missing please let me know!

I’m currently trying to nab the last few Foreign First Edition Base Blastoises, Italian and Portuguese, and finishing up with all of the Japanese variations. Also working on several third party cards and the rest of the TOPPS and CARDDASS cards.

Thanks! I’ve worked really hard on this, spent some good money, traded aggressively, and had some help from well-meaning strangers-turned-friends.

I think the “Dark” ones were some of the first I obtained! I won an auction for a lot of 7 blastoise cards on ebay. I think it had all the rocket blastoises except a non-holo first edition. The legendary cards were easy too.

The Trainer Deck B Blastoise card were the hardest to obtain. I started collecting 2.5 months ago and it took that whole time to find them. I finally got them 2 days ago…within like 20 minutes of each other haha. I started getting the non-TCG stuff to kill time while searching for the Deck Bs.

It’s a Japanese Base Set Blastoise with a different Holo style. I honestly have no clue why, I was just skimming ebay, marking down cards I had/needed on the spreadsheet I prepared, and saw it.

I’d recommend:

  1. A square cut base Blastoise
  2. The rarest pokemon card in the world (lol)…square cut, no stage error Blastoise.
  3. The Action Flipz Blastoise.

Very unique collection!

I have great respect for people collecting specific cards only. I remember a guy from youtube I believe who also had been working on a blastoise collection but I like yours better. I have a couple of foreign Blastoise cards (also non-TCG cards) if you give me a few days I will look them up and message you.
Keep up the good work! And if anyone knows about other base set “different” holo cards in existence, LET ME KNOW :open_mouth:

I might grab the action flipz blastoise and/or a few of the non-standard sized cards and such in the near future. Currently swept up in my TOPPS collecting/cataloging.

I’d totally get the square cut, no stage error blastoise…if it wasn’t the only one…
I would have several different misprints and miscuts by now, but for some reason two french ebay sellers won’t let me buy from them. I made one bid on one item for each and now I can’t buy anything from either of them. Even buy-it-now doesn’t work.

I have heard of a few other people with similar collections, most of them involving pikachu, charizard, or umbreon, but I haven’t seen any blastoise ones. I would love to see more large collections!
