Inspired by the german topic, here it comes my question regarding psa and italy
Paging @evaner
It’s worth learning to send in yourself, it’s easier than it seems really.
If you absolutely must use a middleman, you can join the Pokemon Station group on FB and ask there, they are reliable and send in submissions every other month.
Hi im from italy too, do we need to pay custom when we send or receive the package?
Station cost 23 dollar a card when with psa collector u can pay 15. So i think if u send like 40 card its worth.
What postage service do u use?
Thanks
I would suggest using DHL or FedEx to ship to California, they will deliver in two days and it’s cheap enough.
As for custom, you can send the cards to PSA Vault, any other US address or another Vault and then forward them to Europe from there.
I don’t ship them back to Italy so I can’t help with custom but you can specify in the form that they’re going out for authentication and the same when they’re coming back, that should save you the custom fees.
This video explains the entire process of sending the cards yourself.
It really helped me to send my first own submission.
It’s simple -
Your declared value export must match the import value.
Google “PSA international submission guide”, they have a doc on it.
PSA use the submission/ grading costs as your value for customs.
You do NOT need to pay VAT on the value as it’s a temporary export, it falls under returned goods relief (but sometimes you may need to fight with FEDEX customs staff who aren’t educated). Make sure to request the export Declaration (in Spanish it’s called DUA) as the return shipment will ask for it.
In my opinion DHL staff are better, which I ask BGS to use. They just charge a temporary export fee.
I never have issues with them…FedEx Spain are absolutely useless and always try to charge VAT on the declared value and make it difficult.
FedEx UK i hear know about returned goods relief and are great.
Just be prepared to fight with them a little.
