Charizard Team Up Pokemon Club Stamp?!

My heart skipped a beat when I looked at TCG Collector for the team up set; I thought I had the master set but then this shows up:

image

It was recently added I think (last 3-4 weeks) but I cannot find any info about a Club stamped charizard from the Team Up set. I know there are 4 Club stamped cards in Cosmic Eclipse, but haven’t seen anything related to team up.

Anyone has any insights? Is it an error in their API or is it an actual release?

Thanks -

Well according to bulbapedia.

This card was included in the Team Up expansion with artwork by Masakazu Fukuda, first released in the Japanese Tag Bolt expansion. A SM Black Star Promotional print of this card was one of the Prerelease promos for Team Up with new artwork by Anesaki Dynamic, available in the Team Up Build & Battle Box. A print with a gold foil “Staff” stamp was given to those overseeing the event. A Cracked Ice Holofoil version of the Team Up print was included in the Relentless Flame Theme Deck. It was reprinted as a Japanese SM-P Promotional card with new artwork by the 2019 Pikachu Project, included in the Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution Special Advance Ticket 7-Eleven Limited Set. This print was subsequently included in the Fall 2019 Collector Chest, released November 22, 2019. The Japanese version of this print features the movie logo in the bottom right corner of the artwork.

And for team up itself,

14/181 Charizard Fire Cracked Ice Holo Relentless Flame Theme Deck exclusive
14/181 Charizard Fire Cosmos Holo Kanto Powers Mini Tin 5-Pack Collection exclusive

There is no mention of it so it must be an error :slightly_smiling_face:

I would disregard if mentioned no where else

If it’s only recently added, I think it refers to this League-stamped Charizard:

This picture popped up a few weeks ago, but no idea if and how the Charizard and Gengar are released. I feel like they’re just leaks from the factory and actually unreleased, kinda similar as this Drakloak we’ve seen a while ago:

Unless release information is known about them, I would deem them as unofficial leaks, aka nice-to-haves, and therefore not part of your Master set. EDIT: There now is release information known; see below in this same thread.

I’m mostly posting this picture so you know which card they’re likely referring to, if it’s very recently added.

I did check sites like bulbapedia, and was confused as nothing was mentioned. I am pretty sure it’s that card in your picture @Quuador that they are referring to. Is it know if anyone actually has those cards available?

I will try and forget about it and not count it as part of the master set - even though that’s tough knowing it seemingly exists

It also has a KFC stamp version, but its not in english

That one I saw. I’m only collecting the set in English though.

Probably not, but I dunno. This picture above is the only one I’ve seen thus far. It was shared in the E4 Discord a couple weeks ago by @thsigma. Not sure where the picture originates from, though. :person_shrugging:

I know the Drakloak is from a now archived E4 thread of mid-2024. The OP there mentioned they received it as a gift after they had a tour around a Pokémon factory. Because of that, I’m assuming this Charizard and Gengar might come directly from the factory as well, either as gifts or stolen, since they aren’t part of any of the eight Pokémon Prize Pack Series that have similar stamps.

It’s plausible it was some local release somewhere. That Pikachu in the same picture was given at Worlds London 2022 after defeating the Battle Raid Judges in battle, and later on it was given alongside some Battle Raid Jumbo cards to select LGSs, so maybe the Gengar and Charizard have a similar very small release somewhere. I haven’t heard of any release of the Charizard nor Gengar though, so unless more copies and release information is brought up, I would indeed try to ignore it for your Master set.

@doomrai Actually had posted em in discord and I asked around as we werent sure if they were real or not. Not sure where they found the pic of em

The pika from that picture looks real, but I couldnt find any other reference or pictures of the other two (zard and gengar).

just bought it, thank you!!

The person listing it, claimed he got it back in 2019 from a club event, and not the US library club event currently ongoing, where I thought the card was actually from? Would be nice to know its origin at some point though.

I asked him a lot of questions, will make a short write up after I get the Gengar in hand.
But here are some infos:
These are the Pokemon Club play stamp promo were giving out during 2019-2020.

  • Red: Reverse Holo Play Stamp (2019). The other 8 are 2020, Cosmos Holo Play Stamp.

  • Green: can be easily found available on the market.

  • Orange: Not readily available.

Seller said they were giving out a set of 6 (Alcremie, Sirfetch’d, Dred, Pika, Gengar and Charizard) to the Pokemon Club Members (around 10 people) at his high school in California.
The Pokemon Club Program was shut down after COVID happened.
I suspect there are more stock sitting somewhere (from other club members, and no chance pokemon only printed a handful of these cards) but not sure why there’s no info on these whatsoever from the Internet.
While they exist in the TCG Collector Data, seller tried to submit to PSA but they didn’t grade the cards for him and sent back with the reason being “no specific info, no grade, no charge”.

Thanks for the info! Always love to learn new things like this.

Now I know of three different places the Pikachu, Drednaw, and Alcremie originated from.
For completeness, the other two are:

It seems the Cosmog, Cosmoem, Lunala, and Solgaleo all have a few copies available on eBay rn, when I search for Pokémon Club.

Hey, I’m the Ebay seller who had these cards and wanted to give a little more info on them. I received these cards in high school in 2019 or 2020 at our schools pokemon club. @balloongengar already wrote our conversation on the cards, so I’ll skip ahead. When I rediscovered these cards, I sent them to PSA to see if they could grade them since I couldn’t find anything about them online. I had them sent through my friend since he already had a PSA account, and he told me there was no specific way to input these cards other than their non-stamp versions, and explained where I got them, and hoping PSA could do some research. They told me that they were being returned because they couldn’t grade them due to “No Spec Info, No Grade, No Charge.” When I got them back, I listed them cuz I was hoping to get a bit for them, and seeing this forum made me want to see where else they could be from. I asked around my LCS to see if anyone had heard of these cards, and someone said that their kid, who goes to the same high school as me, got a ton of these stamped cards from the library club. told me that the library club started in December, and the kids who went to the club were given the cards for attending. I asked for some pictures, so I’ll attach them here. I asked to buy them so well see if I can get some, and if I do, I’ll probably list them on Ebay again.

Can you confirm whether the Gengar and Charizard are among the cards currently being given out? Just to be sure; you are referring to the ongoing library event being held in the US?

and thank you for listing the cards - my master set OCD is at ease

Yes, the 6 photos I just posted were given out in addition to the gengar, zard, pika, sirfetchd, dred and alcremie. I assume that they have a ton of stock left over from the original pokemon club and are using it for the library club. I’m interested to see how many of these clubs pop up in the US. I haven’t heard of any others except the one in my town. I’ll ask the guy if he knows how many were given out to see what the pop could be for them.
