Cardmarket Grading

I’ve had a laugh when browsing booster boxes on there. It’s like all the bad aspects of 2010 teenager eBay meets 2020 Facebook asking prices.

That said, not necessarily a bad thing. If sellers would rather deal with every prospect on a personal level, as they imply with their actions, then more power to them.

Happy to know I’m not the only one to think this.

I could agree on this last statement, but I would prefer to have flexibility. If you want to upload 2 or 3 photos you simply cannot, and it’s quiet stupid…if you don’t want do deal with every Timmy like on ebay you can simply ignore them but for serious collectors would be a game changer.

Oh absolutely, photos should be a no brainer.

I have bought 10x grading just to see how they will perform.
Nothing special will be send, just some cards I like.

Of all EU start up grading services cardmarket could become a serious competitor.
And yes uploading photos is a time consuming issue on Cardmarket. Depending on the amount of time and the value of the item I try to make a combination of pictures, put them together and upload as 1 picture. But it’s a real slow process.

An app to quickly take photos is the thing they need the most right now imo. Uploading a photo requires me to upload the pic somewhere, then download it on PC to upload it again on CM with an upload speed of what feels like 50 Kbps. That’s for ONE photo at a time. Doing multiple tabs doesn’t make the upload any faster. It’s in their best interest too since many people don’t even buy 10€ cards without pics, which yes I never respond to that but just because taking them is such a hassle.

Yes people rarely buy even after asking for photos on a modern booster fresh card, but at least I could put the photo into the listing so nobody would have to ask again for that card.
If not an app, at least faster upload speed for multiple pictures at a time.

grade harsh, sell low, bright blue label → Gain massive market share somehow

It’s a Covid miracle.

To be honest, I am 100% impressed with their timing and execution. Wait until demand is way up and competition drops off the face of the earth to start a company backed by a rep from a different but somewhat similar sector to build trust. Then grade so much stuff that people just assume your a big dog because they see so many cards. I cant imagine a better timed operation and literally the only way to get in with the big wigs this day in age.

Got this picture from a friend, NERA Mint? Typo or are they doing translated labels?

@poketrade, 4 direct results in total on google, all stemming from the same japanese eBayer selling used camera equipment. Has to be a typo. The “I” in mint is capitalized as well.

Already proved this grading company is a bust in 1 post lmao. Although everyone already figured that but jesus that is bad. I honestly feel like a lot of these startups are just trying to milk money short term while PSA is backlogged and don’t have any hope or work put into them surviving long term since they figure they have no shot after PSA backlog is cleared up.

They actually pissed off lots of their core comic collectors by putting so much resources into TCG (slowing down turnaround for comics) but clearly it has paid off with a million pokemon cards in 16 months. Regardless, we will almost certainly see demand slow down across the board in the next year most likely (including to psa) and then it will be very interesting to see who survives besides the monopolies.
