First time going to a card show and bought this boosterbox, it felt mint and had a tight wrap on it. However when I got home i realized this (idk if its a tear from the seal) , and was wondering if I just got fleeced because i paid full market. Is this normal on Sun & Moon Booster Boxes , is this still in the factory sealed/mint condition and would this affect me every from selling it? Thank you guys so much, very interested to hear your guys responses
Just wondering, whats your goal here?
If you dont trust the vendor are you going back to demand they refund you?
You are a buyer, would you want the box if it has the seal split? Would it make it worth less to you?

if you’ve read the post, you can see my concern is if this is normal for unbroken bonds/ sun and moon booster boxes. And wondered if it affects the condition of the box. I get it, reading is hard.

In terms of your purchase, small tears in the seals are not uncommon. The box would still be considered factory sealed. However, some buyers may not want the box because of the small tear, so if you do sell this be sure to make sure the small tear is shown in your listing photos.

But, in the future it’s probably a good idea to do this kind of thing BEFORE you drop several thousand dollars on something.

yeah It honestly jjust passed through my eyes , the vendor did till me the box was good, and didn’t tell me about it so i thought it was fine. still 100% my fault.

Yeah the message from @lyleberr seemed off/bitter , I felt in my post I was pretty clear in what my intention of creating the post in the first place that’s why I matched there tone on my reply. Would you say this tear is better because its from the seal and not just n a random place, would I have to sell this under market.

It’s normal and happens all the time. It bothers some people more than others and some people may wanna value it less because of it. Most sealed buyers do recognize that the value of a sealed product is derived from its contents and the wrap is simply there to let the buyer know that it has not been messed with

No offense was meant, just was confused why its a question because answers vary based on your goal and are subjective.
The box looks real but the wrapping may be tampered which means the packs might be tampered. So if your goal is to own one and not lose money and there werent many others you can find, its probably worth keeping.
If your goal is to save it for a box break, still probably worth it to keep it.
If your goal is to have it for an investment, busted seals are viewed as less desirable and can lose 10-25% value but it depends on the buyer.
Im guessing based on your tone and responses that you just wanted that last answer but what good does it do since its something that should have been caught before you paid $2k and now you either take a small loss on reselling it or just hold onto it until someone desperate buys it. Unless you dont mind about a few hundred being variable, again a subjective situation.
So again, whats your goal? It could be totally fine and a normal split from the factory. But if it isnt, is it worth you holding onto it or the headache of selling it? Investing wise its potentially dead money because of that split.

I collect sealed items along with cards. Sealed Pokemon items are somewhat difficult to navigate especially with Elite Trainers – they don’t use printed shrink wrap plus they seem to use different gauges of wrap from release to release. Full Booster Boxes like yours, definitely, 100% will have the Pokemon / Pokeball shrink wrap also found on other older bulk items like theme decks, world champ decks, etc.
IMO, your box looks legit. The seams are correct with beads on 3 sides and a smooth overlay on the top. Also, the seams should be more like a welded bead instead of a smooth clean-cut seam like on Character Boxes – and your seams look good. As for the small separation – it just happens. Shrink-wrap was meant to protect the display box and keep the contents from falling out, not to be an aspect of “collecting”. The only concern I have is minor; the shrink on booster boxes tends to get looser with age, and some people use a heat gun or hair dryer to take the looseness (slack) out of the wrap and this also will lead to stress on the seams and some subsequent separation. But overall, I think you’ve got a legit factory sealed booster box.
