This investigation has not identified any evidence that sensitive customer information was impacted.
If I had to guess, Beckett is referring to a new security incident than what had occurred before they were officially acquired by Collectors (who owns PSA). There is 0% chance that Collectors will address the original data leak if it occurred before their formal acquisition date.
And if that is the case, they should be dragged through the mud on social media and in court through a class action lawsuit.
WordPress is still by far the best website platform. Itās not insecure if you actually implement regular updates and have simple security plugins (and a separate secure server).
Plus with AI, you can basically fully manage the site from a VPS linked to Claude and identify hacks.
We had a client site that we took over, that was managed by another team who were negligent. It had been hacked. The hack built 20k+ spam pages linking to casino sites, crypto and pron sites. We couldnāt simply remove the pages as the hacker installed a code that crashed the site if we tried to delete.
In the end, we created a custom plugin that hid our deletions from the hacked plugins and manged to clean up the site that way. Claude then helped us remove the 20k+ spam pages automatically and implements redirects for all the spam urls. We then made a massive removal list for google and got all the links un-indexed.
Something that would have taken weeks before took about 2 days to fix.
We build like ~10 wp sites per month for quite large companies.
I would only ever recommend an alternative platform it the company is an e-commerce brand.
With Beckett, I imagine they had very old tech and or had someone on the inside who was a bad actor.
It sounds like they donāt actually know the issue, though.
Their new site appears to be up but with a notice that some things will be temporarily unavailable. Pop report is a lot easier to use now! Havenāt logged in or anything yet
edit: actually it seems like a lot of sets are missing right now
Yeah, seems like the search function of the POP report isnāt quite there yet for TCGs. If you check a cert, the data is there though. Also little side note: While it does still show the subgrades of all individual certs in the POP report, the cert numbers are no longer displayed.
