The only thing Butterfree was ever good for was beating Brock if you chose Charmander as your Starter, and even then it was made obsolete and worthless in Pokemon Yellow because of being able to catch Mankey.
I remember stealing my brothers Venusaur from his game with our Link Cable when he was at school one day, I was sick at home. I ended up trading it back before he got home because 1) I felt guilty, and 2) I couldn’t justify my guilt because I didn’t have enough badges to control it anyway.
So Ash-Greninja EX is going to have two different versions, one from World Hobby Fair 2016 and another one as a lottery promo from the anime limited to 100 copies. The right one with the Pokemon XYZ logo is the lottery version.
Have we had a lottery promo thats been that low in numbers as its usually been in the 1000’s. i reckon having a cheaper copy available at the same time is going to hurt its value a bit but it will definitely rise in the coming years imo.
The 100 copies at the very least guarantees a steady value for years to come. I am with you, though. That little stamp is not going to be enough for a lot of people to care about it over the more common copy.
If the lottery version was a unique artwork Full Art version. Oh boy.
This decision reminds me slightly of 2013 Battle Carnival Spring Mewtwo EX: totally same artwork with regular promo card + some random stamp, regardless of low quantity it simply doesn’t interest people who collect rare stuff.
