Hello guys, it’s me the oddball collector who wonders around the boards aimlessly. I have a new project I am working on and I am hoping some of you guys can help me. While opening my Darkness Ablaze ETB I noticed that they updated the look of the poison and burn markers. It got me started thinking: Why haven’t I started collecting these? They change the art sometimes apparently so I figured what they hey! I started going through my random stuff pulling all my markers and I noticed something else. Some of these markers have different codes on them denoting what I think might be their origin. Like what box they came out of. Looking through mine I found these codes:

l17
l19 (Darkness Ablaze)
A18
K18
Looking online I literally cannot find anyone talking about this at all! Which I find strange. Here is where I need help! I can buy these markers all day and amass a huge collection of every code I can find, but that doesn’t help me in documenting their origins. I looked at unboxing videos but NO ONE seems to care about these so they are NEVER really featured in these videos. How can you help?
If you plan on cracking an ETB in the future especially an older one if you can PLEASE take a close up picture of the poison/burn/GX markers in the original bag (so I can see the packaging) and of the code on the makers (so I can document them). Please only do this if you are 100% sure they came from the box. I really would hate someone to make a guess and it hurt my documentation.
Another way you can help is to document all the different codes you can find on any loose markers you have (please send pictures). This will help me create a master list.
Another way you can help is to let me know of any released products outside the ETBs that came with acrylic condition markers or GX markers.

Hey, I’d be happy to help with this! When I have some time next week I’ll go through the ETBs I have at home - I always leave the dice/counters/sleeves in each of their respective boxes so I’ll let you know what I find.
That would be awesome! I was hoping to find a few collectors that kept them seperate. I am also buying any sealed sets I don’t have so if you’re interested it won’t be a complete waste of time lol

Wish I can help, but I don’t usually open my Elite Trainer Boxes. I opened 2 burning shadows and 1 Shining Legends. Problem is I think I mixed them up but if you need, I have three dice bags so I can tell that for the dice:
B17 = Burning Shadows
E17 = Shining Legends
I have a F17 marker for poison/damage tags…don’t know which it belongs to.

I know you guys are probably cracking Champions Path ETBs like crazy! I would really appreciate someone to snap a quick pick of the condition markers and GX counter for me! I would like to see the style of the markers as well as the product code!
