Well… are you?
After having a day off work and taking stock of what I have, I’ve realised just how large my collection has gotten and how I should be (and now am!) content with it. Buying/chasing more cards is always there, however reviewing and seeing what you have is so very important.
Are you happy with your collection right now?

Some parts of my collection are complete, and I am perfectly content with those portions. But I still have a lot to accomplish before I would feel a sense of completeness.
My collection brings me joy and I am proud of it, but I won’t be nearing the end any time soon. I try to review my collection in its entirety at least once or twice per year to assess progress, set new priorities, and most importantly, appreciate what I have accumulated.

I am content with my promo collection but with the rest of my collection I feel like there are too many holes at the moment. I still have a long collecting journey ahead of me and that’s exciting!

I would like to think yes. I have an incomplete collection but I have not made any purchase since end of October last year in order to to fill those gaps. I made it a point to start appreciating with what I have by flipping my binders every week and learning about the cards.
The binder flipping and not buying cards for a while has made me realize that I am slowly and hopefully moving towards contentment and fulfillment with what I currently have without the need to complete the binder pages. A big part of that however, is, this whole ecosystem of E4 and the people I interact with. I think I am able to let go about the active thought of buying cards because I am active on this forum and the activities it has. I also started playing Pokemon Live and learning how to play the game.
Hopefully in the future, I can reach a state of contentment without relying on something else.
Cheers!

For the most part, probably yes. However, sometimes I have difficulty accepting what I have and what I would like to have (I don’t envy anyone in any way). This also extends to setting goals for collecting. Sometimes it’s too hard for me to understand what I really need because I started my collection not so long ago.

If I had answered yesterday I’d have said yes absolutely. But I think I have worked out what grades I am getting from my latest sub and it’s disappointing. I can’t seem to grade those last 2 cards I need as mint to complete the raichu english tcg.
More seriously though I am very happy. I enjoy upgrading 9’s to 10’s when a bargain appears, it’s been a fun mission.
If I stopped today i’ve done very well. I have not met many raichu collectors that grade their cards to see where my collection ranks but that’s maybe a good thing.

If I had to stop collecting today, then yeah, I’m content with what I have and super grateful for being in the position to own certain cards that I only dreamed about pulling as a child.
I regularly pull out my binders and slab collection to flick through and admire the prescious cardboard. After all, what’s the point of a collection if you can’t appreciate what’s been collected?
Then again, there are always new, exciting cards being released and still chases from childhood that I’m yet to acquire…it never ends!

Unfortunately no, but that’s normal, since I consider myself merely at the start of my collecting journey. My collection is just 20% of what I have in mind, with many sets left to be completed, and a lot of cards bought with some kind of compromise or restriction (<PSA6 quality).
I’m satisfied of what I managed to acquire with extremely limited resources though, and I’m really really grateful for the cards that I already own. When (or if) I’ll reach my goals I need to promise myself to not be a perfectionist, and appreciate what I accomplished. Can’t wait to finally look at my binders with this gratification,

I love my collection and I’m proud of what I could get over the years. If I had to stop collecting forever, being content with my collection would be hard considering there are still many cards that I want in my collection that I consider long term goals.
If I had to stop buying or getting any new cards short term (less than 2 years), I’d be very content with what I have.

Yes I’m content. I haven’t bought a card in 3 months. I’m enjoying E4, drawing for the E4 art contest and reorganizing my binders. Will find some new collection goals later this summer when the next spark of inspiration hits.

We here support the sickly-minded collecting person, not some “healthy” person who’s “content” with their collection.
Go on—get the hell out of here.

4 decks.
International Team Aqua, and 3 starter kalos collections.
I find those 4 and I will be content with my collection. I’ll settle for the team aqua deck but i wont be content with it and itll keep nagging me as I search ebay daily hoping someone puts up a listing for the starter collections. After those 4 I can still upgrade about 28 decks to sealed copies but thats just for completion, not for contentedness.

I reached a point of ultimate satisfaction 2 years ago when I moved to another city and packed up my entire collection. When I saw the number of boxes labeled “Pokemon” and the pleasure I went through unpacking them, at that moment I was like “Yeah, it’s a pretty cool collection”.
I also noticed I’m no longer jealous of other people’s collections and people started to be amazed by mine.

Yes. There’s a few cards still out there I’d like to have but they aren’t deal breakers.
